Booting off an ipod

So I installed OS 10.2 on my 10GB iPod, selected it as a startup disk, and rebooted. It got to the Grey apple but nothing after that, not even the spinning circle thingy. Did i miss something? I'm trying to boot off the iPod on my TiBoook 667 DVI and have been unable to do so no matter how much time I give it. Anyone had any similar problems?

Thanks in advance, Eric

Yeah, my friend has attempted to use his 10 GB iPod as a boot device but can never get it to work. I'm not sure why, it doesn't work.

Try holding down the Option key during startup, this will take you into a screen that will scan all you IO buses for bootable installs, and allow you to select one from there.

It may also be that the iPod is not formatted to be bootable, in which case you could reformat it with diskutil from the Terminal which allows you to explicitly format something as a bootable device.

Let me know how it goes.
