The new 20 gig iPods are selling now. Has anyone tested out the new software? Is there a place one can get in online? Does it come on the new CD?

where are they selling? I called up apple SoHo today and they said August 15th...
The new firmware isn't out yet. The new models aren't out yet. Sure, they've been announced, but they're not shipping yet. If the firmware was somehow available, it would be on Apple's website. It's not on their website. I've been checking every few days.
I called Apple Palo Alto today to ask if they had the new 10 gigs, which they didn't but they did have the new 20s... So if anybody is near palo alto, get them there.
just got the 20 gig, gimme a couple of hours... I am supposed to go to my uncle's birthday party... but if i can talk my parents out of it i'll be able to post the firmware for you... email?
yes it came with a CD, the firmware is version 1.2
but for the life of me i cannot find the updater!!!
I am trying to upgrade my older 5 gig iPod and it is NOT working... sorry to get your hopes up, but I dont think it is possible to update the firmware until apple releases the updater...
I dont think you will find what you are looking for, but i'll send it anyway...
and if you DO have a trick that will somehow let me update my old iPod, do tell I'd like to knoww thanks
iPod Software 1.2 adds significant enhancements and new features to iPod. Some features require iTunes 3 or later. To get the latest version of iTunes, go to www.apple.com/itunes/download.
* Audio playback and user interface improvements
* Browse music by additional categories, including albums, genres, and composers
* Support for iTunes 3 Sound Check, which automatically adjusts for
drastic differences in volume between different songs for a more consistent
listening experience
* Calendar -- display industry standard iCalendar appointments and alarms
* Clock -- view the date and time
* Connection feedback on the iPod screen, indicating when it's safe to unplug the FireWire cable
* Support for Audible? audiobooks and audio programs

will try it out soon...
that was the only "iPod installer" package on the CD...
is there some way i could send you a list of the files on the CD?
the thread to what i sent you is: iPodCD-->iPod Installer Mac OS X--->iPod Software.mpkg
the only other thing i can think of is the iPod help folder: iPodCD-->iPod Installer Mac OS X--->Packages--->iPodHelp.pkg
but thats 3 megs.... u still want it?
do a search for an invisible file called firmware on the cd

did that... turned up nothing...
