I just downloaded ios7 on my iphone4. What a piece of crap. The text is very thin making it difficult to read for an older person. Everything is more faint than ios6. Now my phone is locked after 1 minute which is a damn nuisance! Never had that problem before. Closing apps is less user friendly and more complex. I have passbook on one screen on its own. So now my 3 screens is now 4 screens. More swiping! If it ain't broke why fix it!

I'm 63 and wear glasses and have no problems with the text. Other than that, I have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. Apps close exactly the same way they always did. In fact, you don't really close apps on the iPhone, you just go back to the home screen and choose another app. If you have an icon on a screen by itself, hold it and wait until you see a little "x" and move it to another screen. If your screen locks after 1 minute, go to Settings and change it.
I find that everything works smoother and faster. I will say that I don't like the candy-colored flat new icons (although that doesn't affect any operations) and I find that the almost complete lack of color in applications like Mail are less effective because your eye is not directed anywhere. I think they need some color or shading back.
There's one thing I think they blew, although it's not all that big a deal: In mail, when you're in the list of mail, Mark All is on the left at the bottom, Move is in the middle and Trash is on the right. I think Trash used to be on the left, so i find myself almost hitting the wrong button all the time. Also, when you go to the actual mail, "Trash" isn't spelled out like it is on the list, it's an icon. I think that should have been consistent: if you're going to use words, use them everywhere, if you're going to use icons, use those everywhere.
But overall, the installation went perfectly, everything is working fine and there are some fine enhancements that make everything smoother and more professional, even though there's not really any great new functionality. I did notice that Siri worked better today - it usually doesn't understand my daughter's name. It might be a coincidence, but iSight also seems to work better. And while you wouldn't think this would make such a big difference, when you throw emails in the trash, they fly in there now and it (surprisingly) feels so much better as a result.

How long have you had an iPhone and not known how to move apps around, particularly when the OS EXPLICITLY TELLS YOU in a modal popup that you can do this?

The whole post should be in bold otherwise the poor guy can't read how to 'fix' his iPhone.
Actually, that post wasn't so much for the person with the problem (that's obviously a lost cause) but rather for others who may wish to make the fonts larger for whatever reason.
If someone doesn't know that they can move their icons then I'm not brave enough to send them into settings.
Thanks to the sarcastic remarks with the exception of Tallest Skil who helped with the bold type. Not everyone is techy smart. Obviously for many of you, being techy smart is a priority in your life.
If you decide to 'dump' any smartphone without having spent ANY time learning basic functionality then don't be too surprised if such behaviour is ridiculed.

Apple doesn't care. I have called customer support several times. They won't hlp me. My ipad became disabled after the ios 7 update. Do to content on Pages wiping it clean via recovery is not an option for me. So I wait.

Kind of late and off-topic, but...
There are some problems that just require a wipe to fix. Or sometimes hardware is physically damaged. That is why Apple makes it so easy to have a backup in iTunes and/or iCloud. If you don't have a backup, then, well, I suppose this is a teachable moment.
Not to be flippant - I've certainly been there. That is why my backups have backups.
An FYI. According to a couple of different Mac sites there's apparently a bug in iOS7 that allows anyone to bypass Activation Lock. No idea if accurate. [VIDEO]

I suspect maybe he means force quitting apps, for which the method has changed but it is actually simpler than before.
