    No.

MP4!!!!!!!!! That couldn't be too hard, could it? Since SJ went on and ON and ON about it at MWNY! How about an encoder for iTunes too?

Audio input, heck yea! for the next harware rev, I hope! That is sorely missing.

This is so cool. You can drag-n-drop calendar events from Entourage to the Calendars folder, and they are in the iPod's calendar.

I guess that means iCal is compatible with Entourage and Outlook file formats!

Is MP4 not on the iPod because of licensing or what?

I see this installer is OS X only...

I can understand this considering many features are OS X specific like iCal and iTunes 3.

We're not going to have a "y2k" kind of problem with the iPod's clock. It goes up to Dec 31 65,500 something... I would guess 65536. Don't ask, how I figured it out....

    another thing:

For what's the Alarm there ? I understand it will be to remind me of something on my calendar, but the thing which disturbs me is that i can set the alarm to three different modes.

    -On

    -Silent

    -Off

I understand on and off, but for what do we need Silent? I mean that would assume that if Alarm is set to ON, your iPod would say something to you...

I also noticed that in the Legal screen are some new additions...

[quote] ACELP is either registered...of VoiceAge Corporation...The ACELP.net codec...is used under license... <hr></blockquote>

I understand that will be something used for Audible.net because it is a Codec for compressing voice.

I suspect "silent" alarm means some kind of blinking indication on the iPod rather then a click or noise?

Just another note on the calendar function... it looks like it uses the vCal format, so if you don't have Entourage, you can go get Palm Desktop for the Mac from <a href="http://www.palm.com"; target="_blank">http://www.palm.com</a>; for free and use that, export your DateBook to a vCal file and it works fine on the iPod.

Thank god I checked on here, I was really beginning to wonder what the *heck* it was doing.

"Updating ID3 tag fields on every song?"

"Adding field info for Sound Check, etc?"

"Why on earth is this taking so long?"

Nice to see some added feedback for desktop use though.

Maybe if you stop cursing and speak to it nicely it will get with the program.

Does anybody know if the iPod will let you rate the song with the new My Rating? I assume it would, but I couldn't see anything about it on Apple's Website, and I don't have my iPod yet (I'm waiting for the Apple Store in Palo Alto to get the 10gig in stock...)

    Thanks.

There doesn't seem to be a way to set the starting sound level as was in previous firmware. Anybody know where it is?
  • Reply 55 of 80
The sound remains on the volume level that you left it at...

I made the event in Palm Desktop, which is available free at palm.com.

I made it work now. It's pretty cool.

It only makes a "BEEEP" but that's enough, it even *wakes* my iPod from sleep!
