I realize that the iPod is not designed, originally, as a super time keeping device, but I'm a bit disappointed in the new clock feature. I have to reset the clock almost everytime I reset, turn-off, or unplug my iPod. Every other setting seems to remain intact.
It is a minor complaint. However, the alarm and calendar features seem less useful when I'm not confident my iPod knows the time. If I must check and re-check it all the time, I might as well keep as tight a check on my events and appointments.
Obviously your clock function is not working properly. I have not had to reset it since I first did 3 days ago. The time and date/month/year are accurate. Somethings wrong there Donny. (Maybe you should ask Marie for help).

at the beginning (read: after the 1.2 update) my iPod couldn't keep the time at all. now, after two days, he does keep it perfectly. even after I mounted it on my mac, the time was still fine. I think he just needs some time to display the time correctly.
Yeah...I agree with you. My iPod seems to be keeping time much better now. However, it still is quirky when I restart the iPod (holding play/pause & menu for 2 secs). Also, it is off when I plug and then unplug from my Mac sometimes, but I have not had this problem occur lately.
It seems allowing the iPod to sleep helps. I guess the settings are saved upon going into sleep. However, it does not seem to save (or not everything...ie...time) when I turn it off (hold play/pause button 2+ secs...).

I installed the 1.2 Firmware on my old 5 gig iPod. That went fine... Then I started to play with the clock.......
I set the clock up and then went to set up the date.... The year said 2001, so I wanted to see what would happen if I went to the year "0"....
Real smart, I know... anyways... I get to 1 and then let the year go to 0... and then all of a sudden the # jumps up to 3657 (or something like that i cant rememebr the exact #) the only problem is that it now takes 10 "clicks" to move the #'s up or down 1.... so the # is really 36570... ok. so I figure, no problem, I'll just scroll up until I reach 0 again... no such luck.... I went to 3700(0) before I gave up.... the thing wouldnt go back to 0... what should I do? it will take forever to go all the way down to 2002 from 37000..... i tried resetting the settings and stuff like that... outside of a firmware restore...(which I'm not even sure will work) what can I do to get the year back to 2002??? <img src="graemlins/hmmm.gif" border="0" alt="[Hmmm]" />

Has anybody else noticed a **significant** difference in battery life. Not for the better, I might add. I was easily getting the 10 hours before, now it seems to die on me after about 5-6, and will not hold a full charge, even when charging all night. Anyone else having these issues?? Huh? More than an hour?? Must be some pretty big headphones that you are using. I think that part of my problem is, that I bought some Sony MDR-7509 studio headphones, they seem to suck up the juice much more quickly than the lil' earbuds. But DAMN do they sound good!!!
Hey could someone explain the 'Sound Check' thing to me. I know in iTunes it is suppose to equalize the sound levels, but it sure isn't working on my iPod. Levels are -- as before -- all over the place. It is set to 'on' but is there something else I should be doing? Has anyone here noticed that this feature is affective?

I am playing with my iPod, since the 1.2 update, this weekend. Starting tonight, I am seriously putting my attention on it.
So far, the clock has been my biggest problem (a minor thing really), for it will not stay set in all circumstances.
- My battery life seems normal.
- My sound check seems to be operating normally, but it is a bit harder to judge that one. I can tell a difference, and the sound output sounds the same, now, as my iTunes 3. Before the 1.2 update, I could tell a difference in the sound between playing music through my iPod and playing music from iTunes 3, and it sounds the same to me, now. So I say it seem to be working (sound check...).
All features, beside the clock resetting problem, seem perfectly functional so far, and the sound and battery life seem great.
I'm sorry for everyone else who is having other issues after updating.
