And if so, I'd like to hear how they get on with them

a) in general, and

b) in relationship to being a Mac user.

I am contemplating a purchase of same machine. Thanks in advance.

The discussion boards seem to be active still, though. Just watch out for the unbelievable number of popups.

FWIW I have a first generation CLIE and have used it with the Missing Sync, in Classic. Ran fine in 10.1. Haven't tried it yet in 10.2.

Well, I just got my NR70V and it is one hell of a sweet machine. That's why SONY have discontinued it, I guess

if you go over to palminfocenter.com sony is coming out with a NV60 and NV70V-

They are the same as the older models but support OS 5, have 200 MHz X-Scale processors, the one with the camera can record MPEG4 video, and they now have a compact flash slot for add ons like 802.11, modems, etc (it doesn't support CF memory cards- I think thats really stupid, but someone I think will come out with a hack for it)

I think it would be cool to be able to watch an MPEG4 movie while on the road in this tiny little device. Well- not really tiny for a palm, but tiny for all of its functionality.

But you've gotto buy sometimes, and I was just worried that SONY might ditch the clam shell design, as some rumours predicted. And, I only paid $75 for it. No, not really

Guess I shall be upgrading in two generations from now on...

    The camera is neat BTW.

I have the NR 70V, and i must say that it has no competition. The only problem is that the high resolution assist only works with text, so you have to find programs that are designed for high rez or live with the blocky crap that regular palm users live with. Also, built in bluetooth would be nice for the next revision-i have a problem spending $200 on a bluetooth memorystick. Otherwise its the perfect pda

Well- if anyones been paying attention palm is also coming out with a new model with OS 5 soon. I think its called the tungston t or something close to that.

If has a TI 175 MHz processor, 16 ram, mic, headphone jack, 320 x 320 screen, bluetooth, SD, and this cool sliding door that covers the graffiti area when you're not using it.

I think the only problem with sony's is that it doesn't have bluetooth built in and the memory stick version is $200.

I do like the idea of MPEG4 video though, but the main reason I would want it for it playback and I'm sure the palm will support that- I just wished it used compact flash and not SD. I wouldn't mind watching my favorite sitcom while waiting for class to start or something.

I have completely lost faith in PALM. They are not just one, but two steps behind.

I got the pegnr70v the day it came out, here in Canada. I LOVE the little system... but since I bought a tibook a few weeks later, I hardly use it. Its fast and nice lookin'.. but I need connectivity.

I really need/want bluetooth for it (maybe 802.11b as well?), as I want portable WAP and icq (etc). So I was gonna switch over to the new ipaq with builtin bluetooth, and no damn Sony Memory Stick. But I heard someone say that they can find memory sticks- bluetooth cards? I saw one selling for aroudn 250 USD ... which is like 400 CD. Thats half the price of the unit!! Arg.

So, if there are some suggestions for getting bluetooth connectivity, or a good place to sell it (other then Ebay), please give 'em.
