Outlook for the next 6 Months

I think, we'll have these new 1 GHz PowerMacs until July. Then they will be replaced with Apollo chips (hopefully reaching 1.4 GHz). And maybe next year we'll have the lengendary G5.

On the iMac side of things, I think we'll see the first revision in July. I think the new Apollo chip with speeds of up to 1.2 GHz will be used (consumes less power, creates less heat, at least that's what I heard). 15" CRT with G3 processor (running at 1 GHz) still available for budget minded consumers, educational institutions, and people likely to order the iMac in great quantities and need to keep cost low.

A major revision of the iBook with the new Apollo chip running at speeds of 1 GHz. 12.1" iBook with G3 processor (running at 1 GHz) still available for budget minded consumers, educational institutions, and people likely to order the iBook in great quantities and need to keep cost low.

And the Titanium PowerBook should have a big speed bump to 1.2 GHz (would be faster than the iBook because it has a better quality parts, and will have bigger screen).

Well thats basically what I think will happen at MWNY and next week.

G5 @ 1.0 Ghz, 1.2Ghz, 1.4Ghz announce on July but a month later due to Motorola's manufacturing problem Apple forced to download grade the speed of the PowerMac line to 800Mhz, 1.0Ghz, 1.2Ghz while selling at the same price

Sounds good to me, but I think the PowerBooks and the iMacs will get the Apollo 1.0 Ghz -1.4 Ghz and the G5s will at long last appear in the PowerMacs.

That is so possible that it's not even funny.

You know.....the stupid decision that Apple did with the G4 debacle is one of the worst thing they have ever done.

It's going to be in my heart forever and I will keep using it as joke when I feel like it

Oh yeah......the G5 PM are supposed to be using a new motherboard but due to the manufacturing problem they are forced to keep using the slow silver motherboard and selling the PM at even higher price

I'm starting to think the G5 is a little bit further away than expected. I think the Ti, iMac, iBook should have much beefier specs if the G5 gets debuted.

There is no basis for any of your predictions, thats why they are fun right? The G5 could come at any time including tommorow?

Although I'm inclined to think we will finnaly be getting G5s in July... [quote]<strong>On the iMac side of things, I think we'll see the first revision in July. They will stay where they are with demand so high. Look for a special event just before school starts or maybe even seybold or the Paris Expo for the rev... No Apollo until the iMacs get them and I dont think that will happen just yet. I would rather Apple wait to upgrade the iBooks until they upgrade the iMacs to GHz G4s... If it can clock that high and still be cool, then it will be in the TiBooks, but from what I have seen it is either a fast Apollo or a cool Apollo, one or the other. Also look to new batteries, but that will be it. No bigger screen size, no more pixels either... Within 6 months:

The G3 will no longer be used in any product with the name "Mac" in it.

iBook, iMac, and Titanium all use some variation of the Apollo G4:

Laptops are clocked around 1 GHz.

Titanium gets faster mobo, with new video chipset and DDR RAM.

iBook gets 133 MHz bus, only Mac with sdRAM.

All but low end iBook get 14.1" displays.

Price drops even further on the iBooks, "so cheap it's scary!"

At least one other state buys iBooks for all of their high school students (probably a state like Nevada or North Dakota). Jobs official beats off in public to hype Macs in education.

iMac is clocked up to 1.2 GHz

    Faster mobo, with DDR ram

    New, faster video chipset

One iMac model gets a 17" LCD, as a "test system" to see how it sells. Sales are off the charts, 90% of all iMac buyers are former Wintel users, Jobs says "If we had know a large-screen iMac would fly off the shelves so fast, we would have made one years ago with a 17" CRT display!" A collective groan is heard as millions of iMac users get pissed because they are stuck with their dinky 15" CRTs.

iPod: The iPod gets a G3 processor, running at 500 MHz. Adaptors and OS updates to the iPod add incredible functionality: digital camera users can dump their photos directly onto the iPod, meaning no more expensive flash memory. With this feature, iPod sales are jacked up to 250000 per month, and growing.

An additional iPod model is added, for a total of two:

Low end: 5 GB HD. $325

High end: 20 GB HD. $450

OS X: Version 10.2 released to rave reviews, "Apple finally nails it!".

Spring-loaded folders, GUI added onto more hidden features, including firewall, windows networking, etc, etc.

Apple finally figures out how to accelerate Quartz using video cards, OS X performance increases 20 fold, it's as "snappy" as the OS 9 finder, and with the multitasking it is of course more responsive.

\t--video acceleration for Quartz is only possible for those with at least a Radeon or GeForce MX2. Every Mac forum on the internet erupts in a fury of bitching and whining as all those who are left out vent their anger and threaten everything from suing Apple to assassinating Steve Jobs. The backlash is so fierce that OS X sales are hurt: it turns out that Apple would have benefited more from leaving out the performance optimization. Mac heads are deemed "psychotic and dangerous" by the New York Times tech writer David Pogue.

iPorn: Jobs: "with all the talk of digital hubs, home movies, and family photos, you might think Apple has forgotten about the number one use for the internet: Pornography. Not any more!" Apple introduces "iPorn", a sophisticated system for tracking, collecting, and organizing pornography. iPorn consists of a Sherlock-like search engine, optimized for finding "free pussy", without annoying pop-up adds or hidden window traps. A download module tracks downloads, optimizes speed, and allows scheduling of downloads. Finally, an organizer and viewer allow one to organize by name, hair color, body type, breast size, leg length, ass tightness, and muff haryness. Slideshows are the best in the industry. Hustler calls iPorn "The reason we all bought computers in the first place", and Playboy says of iPorn "all it's missing is a waterproof cover for the keyboard and mouse".

    Finally, the real exciting part:

    Powermac G5s: 1.2, 1.4, 1.6, dual 1.6 GHz.

New Mobo, DDR RAM, 8x AGP, ultra fast bus, all sorts of other crap that gets Mac geeks hard.

New case with extra drive bay, smaller footprint, quieter fans.

    New low price!

    slow: $1500

    medium: $2000

    fast: $2500

    Faster: $3000
