Heh. I just sent my iPod for servicing today and the battery indicator was one of the reasons I cited.

I don't listen to anything at 104dB through choice...

Volume depends on the earphone used, so you can't just reduce amplification and expect it to be under 100dB on all headphones. They can calibrate it with the supplied ones, but who uses that

the new sound check function is great. now i dun have to manually adjust the sound settings!!
