bmw z4 and iPod

in iPod + iTunes + AppleTV edited January 2014
i found it quite interesting that in the promotional materials for bmw's new roadster (which, by the way, is just sexy beyond belief) they specifically mention that 'auxiliary input for iPod or MP3 devices is standard"

i dunno. just cool to see that it's considered to be a cut above standard 'mp3 devices'...

as you were..

Rather hideous from the side and or rear 3/4 view, the Z4 that is.

if I see the kind of uncivilised yuppy scum tends to drool over bmw, I reckon I'd rather have a red-hot poker stuck right up my ass.

what? I'm afraid I dont understand that you meant by this, can you explain, because to me it seemed like you meant it negatively to people who like BMW...so if not, care to explain?

The car has lost its cute Z3 retro-inspired roadster looks. A million other 30,000 dollar roadsters look better than the new Z4....

....Like the new Nissan Z-car and its Infiniti G35 sport coupe sister.

The only view the Nissan and Infinity will have of the Z4 is the tail lights. As the Z4 vanishes over the horizon.

Well, the less you see of it the better, it's truly ugly, only the interpretation of the nose shows any promise. Overall, you can't even say it's ugly in a sort of interesting way, like the Z3 M-coupe. Terrible, one of the worst looking BMW's in a long long time.

Yeah, the Z4 is good looking from the rear and fast now, ;-) but what will that rear look like 10 years from now :-P

While I found several BMW models of recent years to be quite pleasant aesthetically, the latest 7-series, the new Z4, and the upcoming 5-series seem to have been contaminated by the dis-harmonious design which has been plaguing several other car makers: see that odious Pontiac ?crossover? vehicle whose name I forgot, that hideous smallish Cadillac (which has that angular box look of any normal car at the very end of its career), the ever-ugly Ford Focus, various Japanese atrocities like the Nissan Primera and Cima or the Toyota Opa and Pronard, the Renault Vel Satis (which makes the Citroën Ami 6 look good in comparison), etc.

I agree, the Z4 is ug. And the 7 series is hideous. I don't think this looks like a Saab (never knew what people saw in Saabs as far as design goes either). Give me 330Ci over that thing any day. Better yet, I am more of an Audi person. I'll take a TT or an S4.

I know people enjoy pulling things out of their ass on this site, but in case you are wondering...your above comment is totally wrong.

The Nissan 350Z bests the BMW in 0-60, 0-100, quartermile, skidpad, and slalom tests; and does so handily is several of them.

Just thought you may want to know before you embarass yourself in a forum less forgiving of bullshit statements.

The latest BMWs are truly a disgrace to the badge. I'm saying this as a BMW owner. The 7-series was *maybe* bordeline, but the Z4 is just hideous. The upcoming 5-series is just as hideous...you've been warned.

I'm with you Eug, could see where the 7 might be going, with a little refresh to fix up the ends, and it might not be so bad. But the Z4? not good, especially those awful looking cut lines around the doors and rocker panels, ugly.

I haven't seen any pics of the new five, but if it's uglier than the Z4, they've got some problems.

I think the Z4 is a definite improvement over the Z3. Never much cared for the Z3, ugly. I like the Z4, but you all should check out the Z8. Beautiful!

    A tad pricey though. <img src="graemlins/smokin.gif" border="0" alt="[Chilling]" />

    No.

    No.

Yes! The Z8 is one nice car! (Notice it looks NOTHING like the new Z4....)

I like the Z3 because it's retro and doesn't try to clash sharp edges with curves. I don't like the Z8. It looks more like a boat than a car. The Z4 is the ugliest BMW, period.

Blame Chris Bangle. He should be run over by his own creations.

I think you're being a little hard on the Z8. It at least looks smooth and finished, and a bit like a boat, a long decked powerboat, which I think was the intention. It's nicely finished when you see it on the road, I've seen a couple on the road, and they look better than in pictures, nice and hunkered down. Not the most beautiful car out there, but not ugly. I've heard rumor that BMW may be reworking the new 5's skin due to early reaction, hmmm...

Like I haven't seen one in person.

I've seen, touched and driven a Z8, dude. Not only is it ugly, it handles just like it looks...like a boat.
