I just got this puppy, however when i plug it into the computer it just says Do Not Disconnect with a flashing sign......that isn't very fun, does anyone know how to get this thing to function correctly. Easy directiosn in manual dont' seem to do the trick. thanx <img src="graemlins/hmmm.gif" border="0" alt="[Hmmm]" />

you have to either drag the iPod to your trash to "eject" it or click eject ipod in iTunes... then it'll say it is safe to disconnect with a check mark

Hey robhorn, welcome to the jungle.

I hate to move a guy's first ever post, but iPod threads should really go into the Digital Hub forum. You'll find more iPod junkies in there.

The psychological effects of the "do not disconnect" sign totally hit me, before iPod firmware 1.1 I never ejected, just yanked the plug out... now I always eject... oh well

I used to do that too... then one day my iPod erased itself because of that.... never did it again

Heh. I remember after upgrading to firmware 1.1 I got that message for the first time. I was thoroughly confused. But that's just what it says when you haven't unmounted the pod from you computer. Either eject it through iTunes or some other way manually and it'll become a check mark saying 'ok to disconnect.' Or you could just send it to me and never have to deal with it again
