High quality Voice and line level recorder. 10GB and 20GB versions. As stated by other support for midi/other editable music formats -- possibly through a firewire port attachment.

How about keeping your eyes on the road?
waht I wanna see is maybe scroll tension control... I went up an ipod once, put on the earbuds, tapped the wheel a bit (well, I didnt expect it to be so loose), and nearly went deaf..... WHOA..
so, I think that the scroll wheel is a little too sensitive for volume...
2. A built in speaker. (like one from the iMac, those a great little speakers. By the way there is already a little speaker for the clicking sound set )
3, Visualistions.
4. A 10GB HD
That is it. I do not think the next iPod Update will be really big. Just a little HD bump.
I would like to be able to hook an iPod up to your car stereo. I do not know if you can already do this, but it would be great to be able to take your whole MP3 collection and listen to it in your car. Does anyone know if you can hook it up to your car stereo??

I use a sony cassette adapter (which attaches to the headphone jack) and it works like a charm.

I read somewhere that the iPod did not work with cassestte adaptors or FM Transmissions, I guess that is totally worng. Cool, thanks for the quick respsones. You can now cross that off the list for a new feature for the iPod.
Another feature I'd like to see is a review/preview for the shuffle mode. It's a non-repeading shuffle so it's keeping track of what songs have already been played. I'd like to be able to scroll through the list of what's already been played (seeing what's coming next isn't as important to me, but could be added just as easily).
oh yea... you should see the side of it... its got a HUGE rear end... its sorta like the J-Lo of portable audio...
(reffering to the buldge that the AA battery makes in the back of it)
actually, sorry to be pedantic but it doesn't have a big bulge at the back.
the model in the picture (mzr900) is less than 2cm deep at the thickest bit (it is in front of me right now - i measured) one of the cheaper models has the big ass.
however. further discussion of current/1 year old sony hardware would probably not be appropriate in this forum.
so i'll shut up
for what its worth:
iPod 2 - quality audio recording, bigger HD, headphone remote. and whatever else it takes to become the portable digital hub (for PDA / cellphone, camera, DV cam etc.).
it would add huge storage capabilities to all these things.

I agree with u on the simple aspect, but a Titanium iPod with an ice blue back lit controller would rock!
