I can very, very heartily recommend the L'Espion from Digital Dream. I'll post the link and specs in a minute. It's about £39 here in in the UK (what's that? $20?) and it's SO much fun it's sick.
It's also absolutely tiny, for that SpyKids thing.
The images you get are wonderful. It's not a Leica, but you get a sort of.. quality.
I went to a party in the summer in the countryside, a sort of 'bring an artistic contribution' type-thing. A couple took along a pair of L'Espions and surreptitiously photographed everything. When it was dark, while everyone was sitting around and telling stories and singing songs and whatnot, they edited together an iPhoto slideshow of photos taken that day on a PowerBook and then projected the whole day's events against the wall of the house.
Published on-line with the help of iPhoto and .mac and a terrifying insight into summer chèz Sabbah.
I've bought one. I had a load of images up, but Apple ate my site and then my trial .mac account ran out. But if you want to see the perfect camera for your son or daughter and iPhoto, this is surely it.

They are really, really good, but I didn't take them! As much as I'd like to claim them, I only feature in them. (In something of a starring role, I must admit.) And yes considering the equipment cost £78 for a pair of L'Espions, it's pretty amazing.
One of the photographers is a photographic artist, which gives them a headstart. They've graduated to a digital Leica now, thse two: oh lordy.

<strong>Hmmmmm..... Mikey Offender: Art is most definitely in the eye of the beholder. Quality is not resolution and as a photographer these are beautiful. I think that if they were taken with the digital Leica, they'd lose all the appeal. I guess for me, it is the fact that you do not need super expensive photographic kit to produce fine art!

I was speaking of the quality. I was not slinging mud at the 'artistic integrity' of those photos. Perhaps I should have been clearer.
was just being friendly with the big sloppy kisses..... but I wouldn't even kiss me..... I'm cultivating an Osama Bin Ladin look at the mo, so plenty of facial hair...... actually wanna grow a fro..... a big big afro! Funky!!! :eek:
