Am I missing something? Apple contracts Chinese manufactures who are sole entities running under the rule of the Chinese government. If there are labor violations, let the Chinese government handle the problem. Lets stay out of their business. Not our problem. Why should a US company get involved in other Governments problems???

For example, we don't see French companies complaining (or forcibly enacting policies) about American companies with which they contract, citing "everyone should have a four day, 28 hour work week and three months paid vacation".

Well there is a correct tool which twists the security device off the iPad and the instructions specifically warn not to try to lever it off with a screwdriver.
Piercing a Lithium-ion battery with a metal screw driver if it slips through the plastic apple logo can short it out and cause the above reaction.
Maybe iPads need one of those American stupid consumer stickers, "Do not stab with a screwdriver".

You are right, of course, but yellow journalists continue to present this as an “Apple only” problem. And no one seems to see the hypocrisy of calling for a boycott on Apple products while continuing to use other Chinese manufactured products.
I love how a comment like this can even happen in a post about Dell's bad publicity. OP is obviously a republican. "They're all out to get us, even when they aren't!"

double.
Why would anyone bother about Chinese workforce? It's not like they have a lot of the choice.
The mods don't care. Nothing will happen.
Sure they do. When one gets back on, they'll ban him, one-click wipe all his posts, and then go back to the threads and wipe all responses to him.
Nothing is perfect in life not even Apple or other computer companies out there in this field.
