I am not sure if anyone posted this already, but i figured some would like to see one in action.

It contains 2 hideable firewire ports and 4 hideable usb ports. it also routes your keyboard and speaker wires under the imac. The cool blue illumination is just a bonus, and it can be turned off.

Hey, that is neat. I'd buy one... but I'm not really in the market for an iMac anymore. Who manufactures that, again?

I got it from <a href="http://www.xtrememac.com/formac/ufo.shtml"; target="_blank">extrememac</a>. It is 130 dollars. I absolutely love it, it is nice having these ports on the front of the imac, especially because they are powered ports.

nice...i was planning on getting one soon...

i have my keyboard below my desk, but the nice thing for people like you is that the UFO raises the iMac up so the cd popping out shouldn't hit your keyboard anymore....

one question...have you tried using your camcorder to the firewire ports yet (if you have a camcorder)...just wanted to see how that works as a hub.....g

I know the whole isub thing, and how it belongs on the floor, whatever, I like it where it is, I never play anything loud on it anyway. Personal pref I guess. As for the firewire port working with a video camera, it does, and very well I might add. Everything from the ipod to my camera to an external HD has worked. The tray no longer hits the keyboard at all. I really thing this is one of the better periphs' I have bought in a while.

just ordered (won't ship for a week or so....), it looks a bit taller in your photo than i thought it would look...plus, how can you use the apple mouse, man??....get something with a scroll wheel for god's sake.. ....g

ps. i had my iSub on my desktop for some time...moved it after getting too much grief here...i agree that it is too pretty to put on the floor...but my desktop vibrates less with it down on the ground...not that i play my music loud...

my wife isn't sure who she hates getting in the car after more, me or the daughters....we all play are music much too loud for her...

It looks cool, but rather steep at $130.

Another alternative, while not as sleek is simply to purchase a circular lazy suzy (there are clear acrylic ones at a local hardware store for $9).

Of course this doesn't add any firewire or USB ports, but it's a very simple way to turn the base to access the iMac's ports.

That's exactly what I was thinking! ...and I wonder .... how long until Apple makes full keyboards with ambient light sensative fiber optic glowing keys?!?!

The lazy-susan idea is actually a great one ... except its all about the "blue", man ...

Lastly...anyone guess about whether Apple will make the entire plastics glow with that cool patent they got?

I'm not so sure about that, because of the powercords and such connected to the wall. Rotating the iMac might pull 'em out.
