Target's Black Friday ad highlights $479 iPad Air with free $100 gift card, other Apple deals

Retail chain Target released a preview of its upcoming Black Friday sale ad on Monday, with one page dedicated to discounted Apple products, including the latest iPad Air, non-Retina iPad mini and iTunes gift cards, among others.

The 37-page advertisement was posted to Target's website to whet the appetites of U.S. consumers ahead of the year's biggest shopping day.

Of particular interest is page five, which includes Target's Apple discounts and deals. For example, the store will be selling the new 16GB iPad Air with Wi-Fi for $479, a savings of $20 off Apple's own price.

In addition, Target is giving away a $100 gift card with every full-size iPad purchase, $75 for every iPad mini, $50 for the 16GB fifth-generation iPod touch and $30 for any iPhone 5s. Gift card quantities are limited, the store notes.

Other deals include a $60 pack of iTunes gift cards for $50, as well as $10 off Apple TV units.

Prices listed are good between Nov. 28 to Nov. 30. Following Black Friday, online purveyors hold their own after-Thanksgiving sale called Cyber Monday, which is sure to bring discounts on the latest Apple products as the holiday shopping season kicks off.

    That's a great deal for the iPad Air. The other deals are far less lucrative.

    They are going to have hundreds in stock... Cook stated that the iPad will be big at Christmas. This is why... I am expecting similar deals at BB and WalMart.

    I actually think the better deal is the 20% coupon you get if you spend $75 on Black Friday. It seems that gift cards are eligible for this $75.

     

    So I may order $75 in iTunes gift cards on Black Friday, get a 20% off coupon, and then, with my Pharmacy Rewards (5%) and Red Card (5%) end up with a total of 27.7% off.  Will try and pick up an iPad Air 64GB then. 

     

    $699 - 20% ($559) - 5% ($531) - 5% = $505

     

    Should have traded my First gen iPad in to them last week for another $200...

    I see "Buy an iPad Air and receive a $100 gift card."

    Quantities will be limited one or two per store.  If you want one; start to lining up now at the closest Target store!  LOL!  It gets worse every year on Black Friday promos!  Wonder about Target.com however?

    In that case, this deal sucks.

     

    You're going to have to line up really early, maybe days in advance. Is it really worth it to be standing out there in the cold, just to save a couple of bucks, and you're not even guaranteed to get one? Is people's time worth that little, standing around like cattle, waiting for the doors to open? 

     

    And just wait until the doors open, that's when the stampede begins, with the animals running into the store, knocking people over, pushing people to the side, and fighting over the few deals that they came there to get. People would be well advised to bring a gun with them. What are you going to do when some douchebag cuts in front of you? Are you prepared to fight for your iPad? <img class=" src="http://forums-files.appleinsider.com/images/smilies//lol.gif" />

     

    If I need anything, I'll just order online.

    True. That model it is. Plus, my example implies you have that 5% pharmacy rewards, which can take a while (need five fills to get it)

    Every fking year it's like that. I gave up lining up in front of the store with this kind of bs ad. Dont believe it? Try it yourself.

    Only if you place no value on the effort it will take a person to actually have a chance at that gift card deal.

    The 20% off works out well on the 32GB which is a sweet spot for capacity. Save the same $120 and no gift card. Also likely to have supply as well without waiting.

    Just found the terms of the 20% coupon they are giving. No dice for iPads.
    The coupon language on exclusions specifically excludes gift cards, Apple products, iTunes cards, Bose products, video games, PS4, Xbox One, Rx, Optical, Target Mobile, Clinic and alcohol. It also states that the coupon cannot be stacked with other coupons.
