One storm trooper is of little value.

You need at least 10,000 to control even the smallest plant.

I wonder why they decided to make these one-offs instead of putting them into production. I think the red Mac Pro looks pretty darn cool, but I'm sure I couldn't afford the auction version. I would think that if you charged $250 more for the Red version it would fly off the shelves ...

Why is there a storm trooper helmet in the reflection of the Mac Pro?

I would love to have that Range Rover. The red accents are nice without looking gaudy like most of the stuff.

    The uptick isn't that high, really. $100,000 - $125,000

Of course, if some else also likes it it might become more expensive.

For that money, I just might take the Fiat:

The 8th photo down has a reflection of a Storm Trooper.

Wee (bit) arty (farty) for me, but the (red) Mac Pro is (pretty) nice. Ah, it's (for) charity so (I) won't pick (on) it.

Wouldn't mind having that big desk/table thing, either. Put a big iMac and a Cinema display to either side on that bad boy.

C'mon.  don't be ridiculous.  The simple fact that Mr. Ive is a designer who has imposed his will on iOS and osx does not get me to leave Apple.  I am, however, extremely interested in making certain that Apple does not revert to what I refer to as the "bad days" when Steve was gone and all sorts of stupid ideas manifested themselves.

You seem to think that one man cannot totally louse up a corporation...or save it.  I submit to you that one man is usually responsible for the success or failure of a corporation.  Consider:  Steve Jobs and Apple.  Fred Smith and FedEx.  Allan Mullally and his success at Ford.  The massive changes at Southwest Airlines since the departure of Herb Kelleher.  the story goes on and on.  The vision of one single man can and does normally account for the success or failure of almost any business.

Be careful not to be trapped by your love of design at the possible expense of function.

I'm glad you don't work for Apple.

I'm not qualified to work for Apple...and I know it.  On the other hand, I might suggest that you study history before you make ultimate judgements.  History does repeat itself.

?Beautiful... But the sad part is companies like Shitdung will actually steal design cues and, and when litigation does happen, will keep denying it, delaying it, accepting it, delaying it, and firing back at the plaintiff and delaying it.

Why are some so negative and then why do have they have to comment. Truth will out. It looks like a worthy cause. What's wrong with that? If you are not into helping those with AIDs, there's other charities such as malaria.

Why are some mean? Who would want to "live" around them?

Sure, Steve Jobs dying means Apple is doomed. We get it! Run for the hills, barton down the hatches, and nail crooked piece of wood across the windows. Doomed!
