New G4 Specs: 1.13 top, dual 1Ghz mid, 933 low [mosr]

Several of our oldest Apple sources have come forward to confirm that Apple will indeed be releasing PowerMacs in the near future -- although the exact date is a mystery even to most insiders. Among the confirmed details are nVIDIA GeForce4 graphics accelerators in high-end models, faster hard disks (although size changes will be minimal, if any), no new memory subsystem (DDR SDRAM will wait for the G5, slated for Macworld New York, apparently, and will be 200MHz+ real clock, 400MHz+ effective clock)....and a greatly expanded preloaded software inventory to coincide with the introduction of OS X as the default operating system.
As for processor speeds, the sources uniformly reported 933MHz, 1GHz, and 1.13GHz as their expectations, but were hesitant to describe their information as 'confirmed'. 1.13GHz is known to be the ceiling for the current crop of Apollo G4 processors, but the low-end is less certain; Apple wants there to be a MHz gap between the high-end G4 iMac and the low-end PMG4, but 866MHz would serve this nearly as well.
No clear predictions were made in this arena, but it stands to reason that the mid-range processor, at 1GHz, would be used in a dual-processor model, making the lineup more accurately 866-933MHz for the entry-level PMG4, 1.13GHz for the mid-range model, and Dual 1GHz for the high-end. Very impressive indeed -- if accurate, we won't have to wait long to find out.
While we're on the subject, if any retailers out there want to more or less bribe us to promote them shameless at every opportunity, an advance promise of one of the new dual-processor PowerMacs would certainly do the trick ;-)

Well, Apple won't be adopting USB 2 any time soon I'm sure.And if you are tlaking about USB 1.1/USB 1.0 it's a common error, I didn't know we were on USB 1.1 why why would everyone else? Also, maybe they mean version '1' as in first gen and not version # specific.

Or how about a contest to see who can get closest to the actual specs? Here's my guess (based on no insider information whatsoever):
G4s @ 1.0, 1.13x2, 1.2 GHz - no case redesign. I think Seybold is a good intro date.
