iBlog has one of the worst Cocoa interfaces I have ever seen. It is absolutely nausiating in every possible way. The good thing is that it actually allows .Mac publishing.

That's about the only good thing about it, and it's real slow at that.
I've been bugging Apple about blogging for .Mac for ages now and I do hope they've been doing something. Ack that secrecy thing is killing me. Perhaps we should all send feedback and keep bugging them till they relent. Muahahahahaha.
yes, apple SHOULD implement this. but they wont (maybe even cant).
here is what i would require to blog on a hosted server:
* The ability to run custom CGI scripts
* Perl, version 5.004_04 or greater
And, either:
Support for the DB_File Perl module *OR* MySQL & the DBD::mysql module
now, after having viewed one too many of the "home pages" that individual users have on .mac, do you really think apple is going to cater to what is needed for a blogger site?

Honestly speaking I think it's all a matter of how willing Apple is to satisfy its customers. If it is a technical difficulty, then WebObjects (or whatever else they're using) uh stinks. If it's a bandwidth issue, well we're paying for it.
So they can't just run it out of cgi-bin with a blogger.com style web interface. Or just license movabletype or pMachine, restrict what can be done and let people set up blogs, integrated with HomePage?
It would not be that hard for them to do.
iBlog is okay and the developer is extremely responsive, but I installed MovableType to my iBook and just have it save onto my iDisk for blogging.
I'm still fine-tuning. However I would love for the search to be able to work, plus I want to be able to have comments, guestbook, and trackback features operational. Right now the only feature I am using .mac for is the iDisk and I could easily find another hosting solution for the same price that could also allow domain name hosting, WebDAV, and CGI-Bin access.
Apple needs to make .mac competitive and right now it isn't. Blogging would add a feature that costs a lot of people $40 a year elsewhere. Being able to set up forums would be another huge thing. Email reply forms would be great so that I don't have to put up an email address for spam robot harvesting.

And I think Apple should allow others to submit templates, the way people submit iCard art. Their sets are way too limited.
Apple needs to add this. The more "hip" things they add to .mac the better. Blogging is hot right now. It should be easy to add.
<strong>Sorry for being so stupid, but what is blogging??? </strong><hr></blockquote>
It's kind of like <a href="http://www.livejournal.com" target="_blank">livejournal</a>. <a href="http://www.blogger.com/" target="_blank">Examples here</a>.

YES! I want to post an iMovie on a blank page without a drive-in, a marquee, a 50s TV, or a bathtub! Do it Apple! Do it NOW!
Of course, someone will show me how to do this easily and prove that I'm just being ignorant of HomePage

You can see how this works at my web page:
