Tim pulled him into his office and, for three whole hours, didn't exchange very stern words with him.

Cook is the kind of CEO other companies can only dream of.

Elon Musk will NEVER be the CEO of Apple.

Tim Cook has the CEO job for life. He is perfect for it.

He takes Steve Jobs' words to heart: Do what is best for Apple. Period.

Tim Cook can also stare down Carl Icahn better than any other CEO or would-be CEO in the world. You are simply not going to shake Tim Cook, the man from Texas.

Tim is going to call it like it is.

Speak softly but carry a very big stick. That is Tim Cook.

Let's wait five more years and then write a book.

I like his Leadership. Very very focused. & Calm

The only thing I would improve is the product roll out. All the product updates seem to happen in the Fall season? Why not having new iPods and Macs in Springtime?

Yeah, $1M it it doesn't happen in the next 12 months. You up for that bet?

All this may be true, complete, and unbiased, but I wouldn't jump to be certain it is:

That was, I just read it, the best piece Gruber has written in years.

    Last year's pattern isn't every year's pattern.

    Go away.
How was that in any way necessary? You go away if you can't converse civilly.

I don't remember the last time I read such a thoughtful piece from Gruber. Thanks for the link.

I think Elon Musk is amazing but I don't see that ever happening. He's got his own vision.

    Go away.

You know TS that there are people who actually like to discuss different ideas, be provocative even. For someone who is such a big apple fan I would think that you would embrace those who think different instead of being threatened by the slightest perceived slight.

The idea that “Apple is a follower, not a leader” or that Musk would be “following” by becoming CEO are not “different ideas” worthy of discussion, however. “Slightest perceived slight” my foot. <img class=" src="http://forums-files.appleinsider.com/images/smilies//lol.gif" />

I'll put my money on Angela Arhendts becoming the next CEO of Apple before this guy does.  Personally, I'm not on the Musk bandwagon.  He still has a ways to go to prove he's Apply CEO worthy.
