On the other hand, the personality swing evidenced in posting style does nothing for the credibility factor.

I'm still galactically skeptical about the personal info time has, but Dorsals post and something an Apple Federal Sales rep said the other day has me hopeful for something by Seybold. He was relatively clueless as most sales reps should be, but didn't quite know when to stop talking either. No, he didn't have any PowerMac details and most of the stuff he shouldn't have said was his personal commentary on policy decisions and support issues (Scott H., he sides with you! ). But he did talk about the buzz about the campus and how many of the sales types were surprised that the PM's did not get a fresh face already based on cafe rumors. And that they (the sales types) group grope feeling was Seybold at the latest. Moki almost had me believing, but Dorsals post on top of the sales guy, well....

Well AirSluf if you really are in Monterey C.A. you have just identified your rep.

To all those who think they know more than "time".

This is a funny rumour discussion site after all. Keep cool or otherwise get a life.

I just hope for time that the speedbumps will be announced tomorrow, cause if not, he'll be soooo raped, he won't be able to sit down for a month or two.

[quote] Sixth and last: To all: I was told by the head guy that on Monday the G4's would be announced, so if G4's were sold today and there was a price reduction for the older models on Monday that we would honor the price reduction. If I am wrong, I apologize to all and I will try never to post here again.

Time, don't take it so personally! Mac users are always touchy when there's new stuff coming out.

My boss said a funny thing the other day:

"so you reckon the new G4s will have G5s in em?"

Most semi-computer-literate people have got so used to saying G4 when they mean Powermac G4 that there could be a fair few warehouse bosses refering to the "new G4" without actually knowing what's really coming.

Is it just possible that Time could be completely honest and his Supervisor told him this based on something the Sup had just read on, say, a rumor site?

I think a lot of these rumors build this way Site A posts a rumor, person B reads the rumor and repeats it to person C as gospel, person C then sends and email/makes a post on rumor site A that they just got confirmation of said rumor.

(que "Circle of Life" from the Lion King soundtrack).

While I hope Time is right (I'd get a new tower at work afterall), I take his reports like all the others... with a grain of salt.

Doesn't keep me from getting excited, of course...

I just want to say (and I know that I may get beat around for saying this) good for time for defending him/herself. Anyone who frequents these board can tell you that they can be brutal and whether or not time is right, he/she's held his/her own.

We can't be right all of the time, but what would you rather... nobody share anything... if anybody thinks that they've really got something then they should post it. Now, it certainly then goes to the scrutinization process but hey, wouldn't you rather know then have someone who really does know and won't post?

    Personally, I'd rather know.

It's also possible with all the crap floating around this board about inside info AI might be a microcosmic example of what's going on around the web in general. He/she might have got info from someone who assured him or her that it was genuine.

I've adopted a wait and see position.

Come the predicted day however the liars had better crawl back under their rock.

... I would love to just be able to come out and say "hey, I work for Apple, F*** that disclosure form, this is what I know" but I can't do that. Again...Sorry.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------

Ummmm...It sounds like you are trying to tell us something. Don't know if you meant it to come out that way. Maybe the "head guy" is Steve Jobs.

Hey time I'm sorry for my other post. It's just that we are sick of people coming around here and posting crap. Maybe you are telling the truth but we have no way of knowing it. Stick around till monday and if you are right I will post a topic publicly apologizing to you. If you are wrong I will regard you as a liar. Sorry, I realize that you may have been telling the truth even though the truth you told was not true. But if you are not 98% sure that what you have said is going to happen you shouldn't say it as a fact. I hope you understand my thinking here. And again I am sorry for what I said because I had no evidence you were lying.

Oh man, that was rude. Sorry Steve....

Happy to meet you time, welcome to A.I..

    You have my trust.

I belive the G5 will come when the iMac has had its fan fair.

well time, let me be the first to say that you were right, and I was horribly wrong. I'm tempted to go back and delete my arrogant and inappropriate post, but I think I'll leave it there to remind myself to think before I type.

    Sorry again.

    Let this be a lesson.

I've been sick of all the arrogance on these boards recently. If somebody has something to say let them, they could be correct.

Hopefully this will bring a little bit of sanity back to AI and bring a few back down to earth.

No, this will be the beginning of the insanity. Remember when Kormac was vaguely correct about a product release?

I'm still waiting for that PDA that plugs into a tablet PC.
