Personally, I only like having complete albums. I don't like cherrypicking songs, and I don't like downloading from the Internet, because it's hard to get good, complete albums.
Likewise, I don't really get the fascination with playlists. I like to listen to a complete album, or sometimes a random mix within a genre, but don't really enjoy lists of single songs. Just my feeling, though.

Over the summer I imported my whole CD collection (around 200 maybe) while I was doing other stuff on my computer. Also I borrow all of my friends CDs that I want and get those too. A small portion are from Napster or AG.
My computer is of course hooked up to my stereo. I bought a 60 gig Maxtor just for my MP3s. I have an ATI Xclaim 3D Plus so I can view iTunes on my TV if I want (even works in OS X!). iTunes is set to shuffle... I just hit play and enjoy. I love the new crossfader in ver 2.
It's an awesome way to collect music. I can rip anything I'm remotely interested in and not worry about it because it's totally free; no CD media or anything.

:eek: Where do you get the time? Do you just encode the whole CD or do you go through each CD and choose only the songs you like...for me I like to go through the whole CD and check out songs I didn't listen to before...have found some good ones.
Personally, I only like having complete albums. I don't like cherrypicking songs, and I don't like downloading from the Internet, because it's hard to get good, complete albums.
Likewise, I don't really get the fascination with playlists. I like to listen to a complete album, or sometimes a random mix within a genre, but don't really enjoy lists of single songs. Just my feeling, though.
I've had to upgrade my hard drive two times now to keep up...

Over the summer I imported my whole CD collection (around 200 maybe) while I was doing other stuff on my computer. Also I borrow all of my friends CDs that I want and get those too. A small portion are from Napster or AG.
My computer is of course hooked up to my stereo. I bought a 60 gig Maxtor just for my MP3s. I have an ATI Xclaim 3D Plus so I can view iTunes on my TV if I want (even works in OS X!). iTunes is set to shuffle... I just hit play and enjoy. I love the new crossfader in ver 2.
It's an awesome way to collect music. I can rip anything I'm remotely interested in and not worry about it because it's totally free; no CD media or anything.
