Although SD cards have some use, I personally would find it odd to have more than half my data on such an easily losable external drive, better the cloud. That said none of these companies are covering themselves in glory with regards to internal memory.

You can transfer data by wireless or via a USB cable attached to the phone but would rarely if ever have a reason to remove a 128GB card once installed.
