New Apple products

My friend works at a plant where they make the boxes for different products and he saw the new Mac G4 design on the box ,unfortunatly he is computer illiterate and did'nt read or notice the specs ! He said it was a different looking case , but it looked awsume.

    They would only make a new case if Apple planned on using the Apollo for a while and it was ready to go.



    Unless the poster didn't know that we were praying for the G5 and called the new case a G4 case.

    Exactly. Can anyone post a link to the last post started by someone with less than 10 posts with accurate information? Then again, reading 10 crap posts and one post with inside info is worth it IMHO.

    Actually, this man could be telling the truth. I'm not saying I believe him. It's just that it doen't sound like the kind of post someone would make if he wanted to get a lot of attention. Apple has to have someone make the boxes for them and who ever was making the boxes would probably not care about the specs anyway. He would just be trying to do his job so he can go home.



    I don't know but don't count him a liar yet. Now if he had posted shit like time did I would have no problem posting the obvious.

    i don't know, i mentioned a while ago that it would be very easy to photoshop an apple box to show a new product and it would be hard to disprove (unlike trying to show an actual computer, which is hard to fake with needing 3-d rendering and shadows and texture ect....2-d photos are easy to fake)....i was surprised that spymac didn't go that route some time ago (ie...."we have an inside man at a box making factory and here is a photo of the G5 shipping box....a spymac exclusive!! " or something along those lines)... not claiming that this is fake, but i think that the last aspect apple would make would be the box for shipping....g

    If they were really an insider, and they didnt want to get caught, they could do 1 of 2 things... 1, spam 10 posts in GD or suggestions or 2, post the topic in GD or current hardware and a mod will move the topic.... not something thats hard to get around.... plus it would cut down on the spam in this forum... I think its feasable

    hehe, if they didn't want to get caught why would they post at all? Best way to set up a free email account with BS info and email from a cafe a rumor site compter like terroists do. I don't see how posting (especailly 10 posts) in another topic will not have them get caught, it will still get noticed

    The point was to get rid of the 1 post blowhards that have no idea what they are talkng about and spout off "facts" as if they were said from SJ himself whilst they are just looking for attention... If someone realy wanted to post info for us, having to jump through a few more hoops shouldnt be a big deal...

    since this guy was computer illiterate, he might have just seen the new imac's packaging.



    G4, new case....well, sure fits the bill

    Btw, sometimes the box doesn't even represent the actual contents of it.



    Take the Beige G3 Tower as an example.



    That case is known by the name "K1".

    However, the box this thing ships in, shows a "K2" case, ie the one the 8600 and 9600 feature.



    Admittably, Apple had a totally different box design back then, not color photos, just gray prints etc, but still, the box is surely the thing that says least about a product.

    I really do not think Apple will change the case for a G4 revision.



    G5? Quite possible.
