If you found a pair of Franklins...

Faced with the prospect of earning dual Ben Franklins (that's $200 folks) in yard work for my Dad, I must consider wether it's worth a couple of my rarely found weekends. Just what would I blow $200 on? Considering I have already saved plenty, I think it would be fair to purchase something with what I earn. I know the AI community is very efficient at finding ways to spend cash, so I ask you guys, what to blow cash on?

Some possiblities I have come up with:

1. An MP3 player

2. Figure out a way to hack my G4 case so I can fit an EIDE CDRW drive in the 3.5" bay

3. A Radeon AGP card (I can't believe those are still $180)

4. A Soundblaster Live! to go with my MM-700s

5. Buy a quiet million acre lot in northern Canada

Suggestions?

I'd go with number 5. How cheap is land in northern Canada really?

Either do that or get an MP3 player (think iPod... if you have the extra money of course).

iPod is out of the question. If I am gonna chip in with my hard earned bux on this, it's not gonna be more than 50 max. The iPod is just too damn expensive at this point...plus I don't have 1000 songs anyway, or multiple computers to shuttle data to.

I love those slim Sony models, but unfortunately they only seem to support Windows. Why does OS matter? Aren't we all on USB here? Why can't some programmer make a little syncing utility for us losers who want "Windows" MP3 players? Grrr

It just seems that there are no cool MP3 players except the tiny little Sony models and the iPod.

If you use OS X, don't buy the Soundblaster.

Why not just get a 24x10x48 Firewire CD burner?
