Woohoo!

I decided to get an DVD iBook today. I just placed an order 30 minutes ago. And I can go to pick it up from my friend's place at 5:30 PST

I will later explain why I get an iBook...the deal that I have right now is so f*cking tempting

I just got a new iBook last week (combo drive) and I love it! It's so much faster than I expected.... nearly as fast as my G4-450dp, it seems like. And it's such an improvement over my old iBook that it's not even close. You'll enjoy it, Leonis!

That's what I thought too, but maybe the deal was just too good to give up.

Is it a new iBook, Leonis? If so, would you mind posting pictures of the entire "opening up" process?

Okay I am here to let you guys know about the deal I have....

As you know iBook is currently havingn the promotion rebate......$150 CDN

PLUS, because of my credit record the financing company gave me a low computer loan interest rate and no downpayment required. Also I don't even have to pay the first payment until April!<---this is when ALL my existing computer loan expire (I mean finish paying)

Monthly payment is 53.50 CDN. Not bad

Also my reseller friend gave me a special price on the iBook....150CDN CHEAPER than other places

So basically...after the rebate and that special price reduction the cost is around $2050 CDN and FREE 256MB RAM total to 384MB

Now you see I can't really let this deal go....

Regarding my financial situation. Yes I am in kind of trouble....but I just finished couple of projects and they paid me so well

I am back to school this spring for some serious marketing program therefore I really need a laptop....

I am typing this post with my new toy. The keyboard is very nice. It's a lot lighter and faster than my old Pismo.

I only leave OSX on this machine. Trashed OS 9

Boy, I wish I had my laptop when I was in school. I had an Power Mac 7100 with 15" monitor, external hard drive, zip drive & scanner that I would, on occasion, bring between school (we had a locked studio room) and my apartment, mainly for printing purposes. A TiBook would have been SOOOOOooo Cool then.

What's the deal with that anyway, you don't need 9 on the machine somewhere for Classic?

You know....the only two apps that stops me using OS X are Photoshop and Final Cut Pro.

This iceBook will never run this two apps therefore I am pretty 'happy' to see it without OS 9

    Get it????

That's for extending your power supply Leonis.

Take the prong end off of the power adapter you have plugged into the wall, and slip that one in. Gives you more length of cord.

You know what? I installed OS 9 last night.....I realized I need to run Dreamweaver

Installed DW and OS 9 with absolute minumum # of extensions (even some Apple's own extensions like AppleTalk, FS, TCP are all OFF) + Kaleidoscope and the Aqua theme from Railhead.

Suprisingly Classic only takes less than 2.5% of CPU clock when I leave it and the Classic apps on background. Even after wake up from sleep I don't see any slow down.

    Pretty impressive.

BTW...someone is selling me both the 2 months old Airport station and cards to me (version 1 but good enough for web surfing. If I need file transfer I can hook it up to my ethernet hub anyway) for $300CDN, I should have them sometime tonight
