um, is this old news? i just typed it in, and it went straight to apple's front door... i don't know why i did it -- sometimes i decide to type in .com's just to see how many things have been registered on earth (try thing like days of the year -- it's freaky).

anyway, could it mean anything??? by the way, i am first to admit that apple has some domains that are way out-there, like <a href="http://www.mammals.org"; target="_blank">http://www.mammals.org</a>; (though that may be a loose association with the darwin initiative)...

just thought i would point it out.

    well, yeah, that goes without saying, fran.

    but, then again, he doesn't even own <a href="http://www.stevejobs.com"; target="_blank">http://www.stevejobs.com</a>;

    food for thought.

    maybe Steve is planning on announcing an online father service for orphans...much like <a href="http://www.edaddy.com"; target="_blank">edaddy.com</a>

    It doesn't matter where it points. I could make my domains point to Apple addresses too. It matters who owns them.

    but if you redirected it, then it would show "apple.com" in the window, you would have to show the IPs

    <a href="http://www.ihatelinux.com"; target="_blank">www.ihatelinux.com</a> used to point to Microsoft's website.

    eh? no, I can buy a domain, specify a DNS server to point that domain to an IP. If the hyperlinks are relative addresses like "/store/" or something, then my domain will show for whichever link followed.

    okay, according to the whois at <a href="http://www.netsol.com,"; target="_blank">www.netsol.com,</a> the owner is:

    [quote]

    The Mac Daddy BBS (MACDADDY-DOM)

    PO Box 635

    Daly City, CA 94017-0635<hr></blockquote>

    Apparently not apple and just pointing there.
