Buying Mac for '01 Write-Off?

I'd like to purchase a new desktop in the 2001 tax year, but of course I'd almost be foolish not to wait and see what comes out of MWSF. Is there any way to order through Apple on, say Dec. 31 and still be able to upgrade my order when/if something newer/better comes out a week later?

Anyone have any experience with this?

I doubt it very much. You'd probably have to cancel the original order and place a new order for any MWSF hardware.

Try e-mailing the Apple Store, they are usually very good at replying.

Yeah, if you cancel your 12/31/01 order to get the newer January-released stuff (and it's about a 99% likelihood that a new Powermac will be announced in Jan 02), you'll just get a 2002-dated invoice.

    Michael,

I'm in the same boat. If you do contact Apple about this, could you post the results?

I've thought about buying a Mac through my local reseller and asking if he'd be willing to give me a receipt with this year's date on it.
