The "I [heart] NY" idea has been around for A LONG TIME--at least the early 70's. It was part of an advertising campaign to get people to visit NYC.
Sorry to burst your bubble even further. Actually, I will. There are street vendors in NYC selling buttons, t-shirts, umbrellas, postcards, sweatshirts, boxers, panties, sunglasses, walrusses, etc. with that logo on it.
But the font used looked just like Apple Garamond, and I just thought it was the same exact pin. Except for the Apple Logo/Heart issue they are identical.

Just saw a picture on CNN:
That is the same pin that Apple handed out to MWNY 01 attendees! I have about 5 of them.

Nice editing
Luckily you can't spell anything wrong when drawing pictures.
A little smoothing out and you could genuinely fool me.

Yeah, that was the only problem. The Apple logo looked too fuzzy.
I know. I've seen them all over.
But the font used looked just like Apple Garamond identical.

Actually, that looks nothing like Apple Garamond... they didn't even use Apple Garamond on the Apple pins...? Looks like Courier to me.
