I'm serious; are there any TV channels that would take time to show the Keynote on TV? Thanks! (yeah...Regular Cable...)

Hell, maybe KRON 4 (the bay area's former NBC channel which now is looking for all sorts of new, local programming) would air the stream.

I dunno. I'd watch it on TV over the quicktime stream anyday.

Do you mean they showed the ENTIRE broadcast at MWNY 01? That's a LOT of time to be showing one thing.

I believe TechTV (aka "ZDTV") has shown the FULL KEYNOTES for the past few years. I know for sure they showed the full New York 2001 (and that was a real long one). I think the only time they might break away is during the Apple promo videos (and even then they still keep it on the screen in a smaller window - if i'm not mistaken)

That's interesting. I guess I never noticed since I always watch the downlink Apple does.

it's techTV. what else do they have to show

but the last one sucjed on techTV. Jim louderback (sp?) did commentary on the keynote during the keynote and basically ripped Apple after every announcement. Some may agree with him but it was not the time nor the place to do it

Well, there weren't many announcements to rip thankfully. I don't like that Jim guy. I read a bio of him once, and he's a total Windows freak. They should let Leo or someone who likes macs commentate something like that.

Darn...I don't think I have TechTV, nor do I know how to or whether I can get it...hmmm...

I remember once someone asked if you could save streams--specifically the Macworld Quicktime streams, and other people delivered with saved movie files of the keynote almost immediately. Is anyone here planning to save the keynote speech this year? I'd love to download a movie rather than deal with a slow stream at 56k...thanks again.

Anyone know if AT&T Digital Cable has Tech TV? I don't recall seeing it anywhere but a lot of times the channels skip several digits in places, so I'm wondering if it might be in one of those hidden areas.

Yeah, once Apple makes the stream on-demand, either I or someone else will post the downloadable address in the "How to save a QT stream" topic in Genius Bar.

According to the channel listings for my area, 294 is TechTV. But when I try and flip to that channel, I get an error message. It says that "You are not authorized to view TechTV. Press OK for ordering information." (It says the same thing for HBO, etc - which is fine; since I chose Showtime instead. But I didn't know that TechTV was extra).

TechTV will show the keynote live (according to MacNN). Everyone's able is different. I have AT&T digital cable and for me TechTV is listed as ZDTV on channel number 274. Local communites have different lineups and packages. The best way to check is to go to <a href="http://help.broadband.att.com/"; target="_blank">http://help.broadband.att.com/</a>; and look for the channel lineup.

I have AT&T Digital Cable silver package and I don't get TechTV. It's listed, but I can't watch it.

Should I have access to it? Perhaps I should call AT&T and ask. It wouldn't surprise me if they made a mistake and didn't authorize me for the complete lineup.

Don't have it here in N. Illinois. Blows goats. You'd think with all the high tech businesses around here (silicon prarie, etc.) that we'd have the audience for it but apparently not.

If you're in the Cox service area, and you are a Digital Cable subscriber, and you get the "Digital Sports and Info" tier, you get TechTV!

Man, I wish I knew someone that did
