So you think there's absolutely nothing between that statement, and "we've got the best product pipeline that I've seen in my 25 years at Apple,"? If Cue sincerely thought they have nothing really great coming out soon, you really think he would have went as far as that statement? I've never heard of an Apple executive say such a thing, and its not like he was forced to make such a claim. "Stay tuned", or "you'll like what you see" would have been enough if he truly thought they had "shit products". Some of you really have no sense of nuance, and only think in binary.

When you look back at previous keynotes, the ones that really stand out to me are when brand new, revolutionary products are being shown for the first time, and that doesn't happen every year. I'm talking about the first iMac presentation, the first iPhone etc. If this is the best in 25 years, then surely there must be some revolutionary, never before seen product included in this product pipeline, and not just updates to previous product lines.

Vapourware will harm apples reputation. You can say this once. Next year if you think the products are the best in a generation, and nothing happened this year, people are going to be sceptical. If they aren't already.

I feel like maybe existing products are being ignored while they work on whatever it is we're supposed to see "later in the year." Aside from the Air, has Apple updated anything this year? Maybe I'm just getting impatient because I need a new mini and don't want to pay full pop for two-year-old guts.
It would be nice if Apple would just wipe the dust off a few existing products along the way, like updating remaining USB2 ports (which are still present on a monitor that costs $1000), replacing old 4000-series integrated graphics systems with current versions, and adding AC wireless across the board. None of those would present a particularly daunting challenge and would remove some obvious barriers to buying NOW instead of in the fall.

In the case of the Mini I can't understand their reluctance to update the machine even if something better is coming. Let's face it going a year and a half maybe two without an update is not consumer friendly.

Well beyond the Mini what could they update. Let's face it the lack of real updates to the Macs is not Apples fault. Haswell refresh has been a joke.

That recode interview was pretty weak. You didn't really get a sense why Apple bought beats other than they think music curation is important and Jimmy Iovine has an "ear for sound". When Mossberg asked if there was anything innovative Apple could do with headphones Cue gave some lame non-answer about how he and his kids love using Beats headphones. But it now makes perfect sense why Apple announced yesterday. Eddy's interview was 99% about Beats deal. But I would have enjoyed listening to Craig Federighi more.

Saying the are better is a pretty low bar for Apple. Each revision is the "best ever" and they can say that with a straight face. Usually thinner, faster, more capable, better battery life, and sometimes cheaper. Say we get $100 cheaper iMacs that are spec bumped. Those would be the best in 25 years.
Hope they get a new category out soon. That is something they promised and must deliver.
