4 BILLION unread emails?!

Any help/advice would be appreciated. This just appeared today. Haven't switched off/updated/changed email accounts or anything, and have tried the 'Mark all as read/mark all as unread' trick

Go to Settings/Notifications/Gmail/ and turn them off.

Reboot.

Turn them back on.

4 BILLION unread emails?!
