Missing Thread?

[note: I posted this elsewhere a little while ago, but nobody seems to have noticed, or at least not bothered to reply.]

I saw a thread in Future Hardware a few minutes ago. I clicked on it, and it ceased to exist. It wasn't moved, it wasn't locked, and as far as I could tell it got no replies. It's just.. gone.

Now, surely our mods wouldn't make something vanish without a trace with no explanation, leaving us all in the dark, would they?

Especially not something with "I just got fired from Apple for breaking my NDA" in it!

You don't delete FUBUimac's crap, so this isn't crap. This has got to be real. This person had insider info. You covered it up. Why?

Don't believe me? I've got a screenshot:

Thanks to MacAgent.

Now, Lucy, yous gots some 'splainin to do!

If you search Future Hardware, the search returns that it still exists.

However, if you click on it, a thread that was made shortly AFTERWARDS is occupying that thread number. This is what occurs when a thread is deleted. This thread DID exist at one point in time.

Gorgonzola and Jonathan deny having deleted the thread in chat.

    I saw that too!

I've gone from forum to forum trying to find that damn thread...

Apparently FormerLurker noticed it and even was able to copy the text, and repasted it here:

    <a href="http://forums.appleinsider.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=000401&p=36"; target="_blank">http://forums.appleinsider.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=000401&p=36;

Hmm.. look like a joke to me. But being the conspiracy theorist I am, I know Apple employees like to toy with us.. plus, can FormerLurker be trusted?

Search FH for the title of the thread. Note where it leads.

This is probably what's known as an InfoBurp: Under times of heavy load, UBB is known to take threads and overwrite them.

--We're in the dark about this one too.

Nebagakid: we do not "modify the truth".
