Really? I'd say it gives an impression that Apple are engaged and willing to sacrifice their own margins to support the broader market. That's responsibility, not weakness.
Paying bills on time does not affect margins! Perhaps interest earned, but not margins.
Well said. I wouldn't be surprised if the government operates on net 90 (or worse).
QuickPay, which was started in 2011, is designed to do just that.
SupplierPay is modeled after the federal government's QuickPay initiative, which requires federal agencies to speed up payments to small business contractors, with the goal of paying within 15 days.
QuickPay has expedited more than $220 billion in payments to federal contractors, and saved small businesses more than $1 billion since 2011.

It depends on how you view it. The cost of paying the supplier at 90 days is greater than the cost of paying them at 15 days. The cost of paying suppliers is a factor in the cost of the supply for the product, and thus will contribute towards margins.
Not that it's particularly relevant to what I'm saying though, this is about the wider effect on industry and, from a PR perspective, it's about the impression that Apple are giving.
Okay? Are you just very selective on what is civi discourse? I have read plenty of remarks on this site that were far worse than mine & had no response like this given to them. How come certain people on this site have to make everything about politics? Apple signed up.
I thought your criticized response was one of the most intellectually valid in the entire thread.
AppleInsider has determined they get more mileage out of clickbait with Obama in the title than they get with clickbait from Apple analysts. Expect more Obama headlines.

Doesn't happen in Military contracts to this day. I would bet it does not happen at all.

Operating cost has nothing to do with margin of a product, but net profit. If the supplier has to wait 90 days, then they need to float more money, have more on hand, which does make it harder for them. If they have to bridge loan to get by, that is still operating cost, not margin.

Do you mean the first political comment that I've made where you agree with every word? If so, then thanks.:smokey:
I hope that you've agreed with at least some of my strictly Apple posts before.
I also agree with most of your views on Apple but I cringe at your more bigoted comments and I don't think this is the first time you've heard that from someone here. I think you classify and categorize people based on their choice of device platform. I feel you are a little too judgmental and black & white, when the actual reasons why users choose their mobile OS are for many more different and valid reasons than strictly their income bracket.
Well said. I wouldn't be surprised if the government operates on net 90 (or worse).
Then I guess you agree with the President & the majority of the country about the Government shut down on raising the debt ceiling? Which is paying the bills the government has already accrued.

Who makes this political every time the President's name is mentioned?

Just tried to call them as I see them, after all don't most of these people consistently whine about political correctness? Sometimes reason or facts are just don't get through. So, why not speak a language they understand? It's almost McCarthyism at this point. We all know how that went.

I'm not talking about the supplier's margin, I'm talking about Apple's.
And as mentioned, the semantics are not particularly important to the point.

It matters not, margin is affected only by the cost of manufacturing vs. sale, not operating expenses. I'm just stating the use of the term margin is incorrect. Profit, sure.

This is the first comment you've made where I agree with every word.....110%

LMAO!!!!!!
How about the U.S. government actually start paying their bills quicker than 90+ days!!!! Socialism = force other to do what you won't do yourself!

It reads like you two want to Apple to do what John Boehner does and oppose anything Obama says regardless of its merit.
Not a fan of his, but it does add that opposing Obama's agenda puts you on the right side of the facts.
