Recurring theme based on someone called @sog35 humorously claiming that every single leak, no matter what it refers to, is proof that there WILL be a 5.5" iPhone, and a comment that it is so obvious that even a deaf man can see it.

Doubt it, it seems to be that there keeping form factor and that something that gives is going to be the front/back face, allowing the form factor, still a slightly smaller bezel makes since.

Still doubt it, though a nice idea it's a rather big jump on screen size.

If they don't, people will hold off on buying until they do.

I half hope for a 4G 5.5" iPod touch without the requisite iPhone model to prop up that "leg" of the proverbial "stool". We've got FaceTime audio, cheap data-only plans, they could even do a deal with MS for Skype plans via Settings; subscription meets extension.

A 4g iPod will never come, you get IPad or iPod only.

I really doubt a 4g iPad or iPod will exist for a very long time; the technology is simply nowhere near there yet. I'm sure Apple will manage to shave some more weight of the 1lb iPad Air, though.

Impossible to say until the device actually ships.

It really depends on how much power the components draw. For sure, a larger display will demand more power. At least part of this will be offset by smaller silicon if rumors that the next A_ chip is manufactured on a newer process. Of course, if Apple decides to up the storage capacity, that means more transistors.

I'm not sure how or why you would think that this article even implies, infers or suggests anything at all regarding a 5.5" iPhone - but I'm damn sure that it's not "clear cut proof" of anything - and by making a claim that it is, it kinda makes me think that anything else you write or reason will be equally ridiculous.

I don't recognize your username. Are you a troll or shill that I should just be blocking? Or do you just struggle with language and/or logic? (Or was this post just a joke?)

There are a lot of trolls here, plus people who aren't trolls but don't care to use logic.

    Enjoy the Internet.

Thanks to you and the others for the clarification and apologies to andysol for my original comment. I did skip a couple of days of messages, but I did look for a /s on the post before sending. Sadly, I do know people in real life that use "logic" which actually *is* that twisted.

I'll try to keep up from now on. :)

Maybe, but not a 4g iPad.

4" models are very likely - they are called iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c.

That's dumb. Why would Apple release "new models" with the same exact names as the previous years models? Alcstarheel was quite clear that he was hoping for "new models" which would have been obvious to anyone with a brain even if he hadn't actually used the word "new". Obviously he - like many people - is hoping for a 4" iPhone that contains all of the new features (cpu, camera, sensors, radios, etc) coming on the iPhone 6. I assume you were trying to make a joke. It came across as stupid, not funny a) because it was out of context, and b) because it was made several times last week (in the proper context).

Anyhow - I think there is still a good chance that there will be an iPhone 6 that is approximately the same size as the iPhone 5S - either because they are going to cram the 4.7" screen into a shell that is nearly the same size as the 5S or because they will actually release 3 distinct sizes. The reason we may not have seen any "leaks" for the new 4" model may be because the parts are easily confused with the parts for the 5S and because the news is not as exciting as trying to confirm the existence of the larger screen models.

Well he joined in 2011 like you and has 2,300 posts to your 71. Odd comment.

I took him as joking. I'm sure most people did.

4g IPad already exist, and the need for a 4g iPod will never.

To Miss C. Hannah: no, a 4g iPad doesn't exist. The current iPads weigh between 0.75 and 1.05 pounds, nowhere near 4 grams. To pretend otherwise is silly.

Think that was TS and not C.Hannah making the statement. See post 28.

You should also reach out to ATT and Verizon here in the States to advise them they are falsely advertising LTE compatibility with the iPad Air and iPad Mini Retina.

Apple released a new 8GB model also called iPhone 4, well after the larger screen iPhone 5 began selling.

A 25% increase in battery capacity, vs. 17 percent increase in screen size. Add to that new HW that consumes less power, and we're golden. :)

That said, I don't really need a thinner phone, a need a better battery!

It's customary in the US to use Imperial units of weight except for pharmaceuticals.

Ben, you do realize that the iPad has sold with a 4G option since 2012, right?

Don't forget the iPad 2 with the 32nm A5 chip after the iPad (3) was being sold.
