Looks like Apple’s going to be updating their hard drive icons. I imagine everything in the OS will get the once-over by the time the GM hits.
So external hard drives no longer have a Firewire, USB or Thunderbolt icon? I always thought it was a nice touch. Or does that only replace the generic white disk image icon?
Has anyone met important graphic issues at User Login (when you need to key in your password after the laptop woke up)? I have it nearly everyday on my MBP 2011.
Wish I could say "Thank you" but I simply went to /System/Library/CoreServices and hit Cmd-1 and looked at the icons. The ones that stood out I opened in Preview to see them in all their glory.
I don’t think anywhere has mentioned this, but Archive Utility and its associated files have also gotten a once over.
You know, I’ve always hated Archive Utility’s icon. Green? Lime green? I love limes–I’ll eat ‘em raw–but why green?
Anyway, here’s the new icon and new file, old file following for comparison. I just realized how silly the old files look! The zipper is down but the zip is zipped!
And here’s the icon I’ve used for years to replace Archive Utility’s. Fits much better, but I think I’ll update the zipper now.
Thanks. Here’s something else. Halfway through a session my QuickTime media files changed from black to white. I guess this is the new icon for them, too.
I’m sure these were done long before DP7, but Apple has also redone most of the system alert icons. The stop sign, the megaphone, the light switch, the color profiles, etc.
Here’re the rest of the changed drive icons (gorgeous colors), bookmark icon, and a new icon for the “generic network TV” that I haven’t seen before. I may have–can’t remember anything more than a few seconds–but it’s pretty enough that it’s worth posting, as it’s different from the old one (an earlier icon had the same generic TV as shown on the Apple TV page of their website).

Airport signal bars are thicker and more readable, similar to current OS X. In earlier DP releases they were razor thin.

Hi,

Thanks though!

I presume home shared disc, or networking icon(?)
GenericFileServerIcon.icns
I notice the iDisk icons are still there, unchanged because it no longer exists.
