If not Limewire then what?

To my experience Limewire is too unstable to use. What other programs are there out there where you can search and find MP3s?

Agree about Limewire and Mactella being unstable.

Up until today I used Mapigator but I just went on now and it's knackered, no servers there at all. What's happened to it?

I use Aimster but I've heard that it isn't working now.

<a href="http://WWW.DRUMBEAT.INFO"; target="_blank">WWW.DRUMBEAT.INFO</a> it will solve all your worries, uses mapigator, searches for ANY file type, awesome program, resumable downloads

Limewire is very slow under OS X, but if you do have OS 9 on your partition, you should consider using Limewire for OS 9; the OS 9 version is way more stable and faster. <img src="graemlins/smokin.gif" border="0" alt="[Chilling]" />

I've tried the beta of Aquisition.app and it's looking to be nice. You can find more info about it on the X-Software forum at MacNN.

It looks good, but for some reason I can't get any downloads to begin.

Yeah, I get a lot of downloads that just say "Waiting 57 secs" or something and never start to download. And getting it to go at over 20KBps is rare even when I'm supposedly downloading from a T1 or T3.

FYI, Aquisition 0.4 is out of "beta" and available for download at <a href="http://www.xlife.org/"; target="_blank">xlife.org</a>. It's working great for me.

Good question. I hadn't thought to try that yet...

Well, there's no "adult" filter, for one...

That was easy! Already got the famous NCSU "hidden cam" shot from University Towers. Okay, it's famous at NCSU, at least.

 This is some high class shit  And it was developed by a local just a few inches away from us (AI and MacNN forums on same server). Limewire should be history now if the world was perfect.

Still miss Napster. It was much better. Can you believe it: I was looking for some live My Bloody Valentine and before I marked my search "music" I got more porn videos than MP3s. The real world is build on drugs and arms and the virtual on porn <img src="graemlins/oyvey.gif" border="0" alt="[No]" />
