By following Samsung's lead, Apple could well make back as much or more money it's claimed they lost from them copying Apple and Samsung's sales will suffer.
Revenge, and it didn't take years in the courts or making a lot of lawyers very wealthy, just competition.
I have to say I'm surprised by the desire for the 6+. I ordered 2 6's wiithout a problem. The 6+ Is too big for my liking, but then I still think the 4s is the most beautiful phone ever made, although I've finally gotten use to the size of the 5. I wonder why they offer a 16gig and dropped the 32? The 16 needs to go the way of the 4 and 8 gigs. Apps and data are huge now.
I preordered on AT&T at 2:50 Eastern, received the confirmation then another note that info didn't match credit bureau. I hustled to the Apple app and preordered another just in case. After multiple calls totally three hours including multiple dropped calls and long hold times, two trips to different AT&T stores I find out they entered my name and ss# wrong. To add insult to injury I get an email at 9PM last night that "they hadn't heard from me so my order had been cancelled". Verizon, here I come!
Stealing is still stealing. So you think they should just let Chinese companies that copy EXACTLY Iphones (except in cheaper materials) come into the US without Apple not reaction... Since competition is so good?
Samsung is going to lose half its market this year in the low end and probably the top end. They are being eaten on both side. They deserve what they get.
(Is it just me or is anybody else occasionally looking at images of the iPhone 6 just to remind yourself of what a beautiful phone will soon be yours?)
I just ordered for someone tonight (Verizon, Space Grey, 16GB) with a shipping date of 9/19. I'm guessing the 16GB models are not very popular with a 48GB bump for $100.
I see pretty much all models, all colors, all storage sizes slip to 3 to 4 weeks this morning. I only see a few configurations at 7-10 days. Its a complete sold out of whatever quantities they made.
Yeah, I don’t have a chance on the 20th, do I. Not unless there’s walk-in stock left over at my Verizon store…
Don't forget about Best Buy. I have a friend that gets iStuff there for himself and his wife. He always waits until the afternoon of launch day--never has to wait in line, and everything is in stock. It may be questionable for day 2, though--especially if you want the 6 plus.
Well I used AT&T to preorder and got my order in 3 minutes after 2:00am and my confirmation email 10 minutes later. If I get an email saying mine will be delayed for 14-21 days I will do the same thing I did last year and cancel my order. Then pick one up at one of the 15 locations selling them. Last year the line was a whopping 9 people. I always get the black/space grey. Everyone else fights for the Silver and Gold
This is exactly what happened to me, just canceled. Wow, I knew not to trust them, the Apple site is showing far less delay.
Here's a random question. I meant to order two identical sixes at 64 GB, but apparently, in the predawn excitement I got a 64 and a 128. Of course, the 128 is connected to my Wife's number. Can I just switch the SIMs and then activate as if nothing else happened, or is there more to it than that. (Or is there less--maybe it won't matter at all?)
That's pretty clever marketing when you think about it.

I keep watching the reveal video, the 1:09 minute one.

See, yesterday around 8:45AM PT I checked and ship dates on SG 6's had slipped to October 7th on all but the 128GB model. Verizon must be figuring out the supply still.
Absolutely horrible implementation, that seems like it would cause way too many accidental activations. Plus it just scales down the display, instead of actually bringing things where you can, you know, reach them.

So nobody wants to use a phone bigger than a 5S?

A lot of Galaxy users are switching to the 5.5" iPhone 6+ and I think Apple had more 4.7" iPhone 6 at launch.
Time will tell.
Who said that?

TS for one.
Well, in his defence, Apple did implement that clever Reachability feature, allowing users to still use phones larger than a 5s one-handed.
I don't think anybody foresaw that.

That's my only chance here in Podunk. I plan to go to the store at 7:30 to be there when it opens at 8.

Interesting.
Even I wasn't aware of that.
