Yesterday TRL was brought to you by AOL and Apple. Almost all the shows that've been on MTV have had Apple as the primary sponsor.

Just said it again. Two commercial breaks in a row. Pretty cool. Especially since the Real World house has a Cube.

Real World has nearly always usd Apple computers in their houses/lofts/whatever. It doesn't come as a surprise that Apple is a sponsor.

I believe other MTV shows also prominently display Apple products like the Cinema Display.

so why is it that stupid teenie boppers pick dell's stephen over the mac when the mac is on their gospel channel

I think that most teenies find that Stephen from Dell is a dork. I should know. My own younger sister is 17, and her school forced her to buy a Dell. She and her friends think that "the Dell guy" is dumb and a dork. (hence, not even credible)

She's not computer savvy, but she still doesn't like the Dell, probably because I come home for the holidays with my PB G4, and in comparision the Dell looks kind of stupid.

Also, as an "RCC" (I get paid by Princeton to resolve students' computer issues) I've found that moststudents who aren't computer savvy and don't pay attention to this stuff don't even know that Macs exist as an alternative. (sorry AI girls, because as it turns out this audience is mostly female). Incidentally, I think girls probably watch more MTV, so the marketing is clear. This audience has no real reason to buy PC's over macs. They have no compatibilty or legacy issues. They are the perfect target audience, and ease of use is a key factor for them in determining product selection. . . If more of them were aware of the Apple alternative, then I guarantee you that more of them would go mac.

If you ask me, I say that Apple should be hammering home the fact that it is not Windows right now. THey should run an ad campaign that call their products "Un-PC." Everyone to whom compatibility with Windows is a key factor already (and thus wouldn't buy a mac) knows this anyway.

Run commercials... fine, it's borderline lame but it's ok.

But to SPONSOR what are quite possibly the two worst chunks of celluloid on television? That's bad news... baaaaad news.

    So much for being artists.

It's actually good as long as they keep mentioning it. At least it gets Apple's name out a little more.

For the first few Real World seasons, the last image of the credits was a big-ass Apple logo. Didn't they have a TAM on RW-Boston?

The first RW New York was the best followed by LA and San Fran. The Boston folks were dorks, I didn't watch London, New Orleans, or NY2. Where else have they been?

NY, San Fran, LA, London, Boston, Seattle, New Orleans, Miami, Hawaii, New York again, Chicago

And for gods sake, why continuous iPhoto commercials? Spend that marketing money somewhere else please.

Yeah, especially since the audience of those shows aren't married and don't have kids. I don't see why iPhoto would be such a big interest to them. They really need an iMac commerical.

The iPhoto is a good idea in a way since it shows their new software and also their hardware being used.

Didn't know they used real film to make TV shows.

I actually enjoy The Real World from time to time. But nothing beats Friends, Will & Grace and <a href="http://www.appleturns.com/"; target="_blank">As the Apple Turns for soaps.

Old people like Steve from the Dell commercials. He reminds them of Eddie Haskel.
