My tone? You mean the same one I literally copied from the previous poster? Don't worry, I'll wait.

The 5.5" iPhone may have the same lifespan as the 5c. Here today gone next year.
But the 5C is still here. And it doesn't bend.

next week it will probably be a talking Goat that gets 20,000,000 hits and everyone will forget about BEND-GATE

Hard to say if this will come back to haunt Apple. I've always said it's about the OS... that's my reason for believing it will blow over.

We should find out in December when Cannacord usually releases the numbers from the top 4 carriers in the US for the top 3 phones sold.

If the Plus isn't #2 or #3... or worse yet... the Plus is #3 but the Note 4 is #2...

    Then. We'll. Know.

Oh... and by the way... people aren't interested in buying a goat (maybe, if it talks)... whereas... anyone thinking of laying down cash for a phone that apparently bends... hmmmm... well, maybe their mind will be changed. Consumers have always been fickle.

Social media is just another word for "sewing circle".

    More like "suing circle"

    NO!

Apple has stated in it's response to this that the new devices are subject to rigorous testing and are reinforced with steel and titanium. They feature "the strongest glass in the smartphone industry" and aluminum bodies that are "tempered for extra strength."

    So they have that covered.

Help me out peeps. Are they saying 9 people have complained that the phone is actually left "bent"??? Or is the issue that they do bend or flex??? Or both? Thanks

    Of course you wouldn't.

Social media allows me to do in a few minutes what used to take me all day or sometimes weeks to do.

Making fun of it only shows me that you don't understand it.

(the personal preferences remark was based on one of your favorite lines)

In the sense that it never should have been a widely reported issue in the first place? Yes, that should be that.

Apple on Thursday responded to the the flood of criticism leveled at the supposed ease with which the jumbo-sized iPhone 6 Plus bends during normal use, saying that just nine customers have complained about such an issue, while fashion-conscious consumers have once again proven that Apple can't please everyone.

    Source: Unbox Therapy via YouTube

"With normal use a bend in iPhone is extremely rare," a member of Apple's media relations team told the Wall Street Journal. It now seems that more iPhone 6 Plus units were bent by YouTubers taking advantage of the media kerfuffle than were bent by actual consumers.

Similar issues befell Apple's iPhone 5, though the public's reaction was not nearly so intense. That handset was seen bending in approximately the same place as the iPhone 6 Plus -- near the volume buttons --?but it is likely that those devices, as with the bent iPhone 6 Plus units, were subject to unusually high strain forces.

At least one AppleCare representative is said to have told a concerned consumer that Apple Store employees would perform a "visual mechanical inspection" of the customer's bent iPhone 6 Plus to determine whether it is eligible for replacement under warranty. It is unclear what that inspection includes.

Apple's new, larger iPhones have also caused a stir in the world of fashion. According to the New York Times, fashionable consumers are finding the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus a tight fit.

Fashion designers and retailers have responded to the call of overstuffed pockets. Internet-based apparel company Bonobos said they would make adjustments.

"If none of our pants fit the iPhones, that would be a real problem," Bonobos design chief Dwight Fenton said. "You ignore them at your own peril."

One fashion source that spoke to AppleInsider said that at least one other famous company -- haute fashion house Rag and Bone -- would be "adjusting pocket size to compensate" for the larger devices.

Tried it myself at the Apple Store, it did not bend. I exerted reasonable force.

Keep in mind if you had broken or damaged it, you'd be responsible.
