Well if were Steve Ballmer you'd be all for it.

Let's get real- this guy is a major f' up, if true.

If it were Balmer we would already know about it so there wouldn't be a privacy issue. Balmer could screw up for the rest of his life and be fine because he's got a golden parachute. When you're an unknown engineer at Apple and get called out only for your mistakes, it's kind of hard to get a job.

Naming this guy is the wrong thing to do.  Very poor form AI. :(

Not necessarily, if the truth that the Sr. management of Apple knows is different from what Bloomberg reported. That said, it is indeed a trashy, cheap piece of reporting by Bloomberg.

But why is AI re-reporting it? I expect that from crap sites like 9to5Mac. I thought AI was better than that. At least MacRumors removed his name from their post.

Who cares?  He's caused Apple Goodwill to turn downwards and ruined many a person's day with lost calls and typing in their passwords.

Because you've never made a mistake in your life.

Should the man be blame or the system be questioned. If he followed the guidelines, then the guidelines must be questioned and changed. What is the hurry? Why was the first edition faulty, and then the second? What about this third one?

Maybe this event will finally get to the heart of the matter.

And you know that how? Unnamed sources reported by BusinessWeek?

We don't know that. All we have are unnamed sources. Basically your convicting someone based on no hard evidence. You don't work at Apple so how do you know this guy was solely responsible?

It's Bloomberg not BusinessWeek and they wouldn't report it unless they were absolutely certain or be liable.

Bloomberg is a propaganda site in the vein of Business Insider.

It may have not been proper to name him, but seriously he is not going to lose his job because bloomberg reported it, if he looses it, its because of his performance.

Haha thanks for the laugh. How can they be absolutely certain? And when has the media ever been absolutely certain before they reported something about Apple? More often than not the answer is never.

It's called being sued. If this guy was falsely accused than he has a major case on his hands.

    Exactly.

Nothing is perfect. With each new build/hardware there are more and more issues to fix. I prefer to say that if there's no loss of lives everything is all good and in less than 3 days a new patch is out that's bug-free (fingers crossed).

Can't please the world. Looking at a sale of 10 million phones with a reported 40,000 users having issues - that's like 4% new iphone users with issues.

I won't hold it against one guy. Not the end of the world.

The likelihood of this guy suing is next to none. Bloomberg knows that. But even if the blame falls squarely on him there still is no reason to report his name. It's none of our business.
