A new demographic of senior users.  The author has no concept of reality.  Maybe someone at AI can tell the author that the majority of the population begin to lose their up-close vision at 40, and that is not considered a "senior user".

Plus my picutures willl blow yours out of the water.

So the iPhone 6 won't last a day?  My 5S does.  Troll

1080 movies do scale on the 6 Plus.  In fact, they scale twice, whereas the 6 only scales once.  You're not a troll here, just ignorant.

IOS is nice but "blow out of the water"?  Troll

Sorry, this "My iPhone 6 Plus is superior to the iPhone 6- and the iPhone 6 is for posers.  And iPhone 5S people are losers and idiots for not upgrading" game you play is ridiculous, annoying, and you simply need to GO AWAY.

For implementing the Reachability feature, wouldn't it have been better to shrink the display view to 4" when invoked by the double-tap of the home button?

I love and hate my iPhone 6 Plus. There are times when I'm on public transportation and standing when it is easier to reply to a message using one hand and I can't. It's a big phone but I knew going in that was the trade-off. I love the display and the tablet-like qualities but it's very difficult to fit in my Levis; note that I don't wear skinny or tight jeans. I like loose fit. I also love the camera and optical stabilization. I'm giving myself another week to decide whether I will stick with it or go with the iPhone 6 instead.

    Yes. There is no “better”.

The 6 Plus is superior than the 6 in many ways.

Two ways. And inferior in far more.

There's the first thing you admit you were wrong about.  Let's continue.

So are you denying the 6 Plus won't be better for watching movies?  Really?

Did I say that ever?  Nope.  What you said was "my 1080 movies will look awesome because there will be ZERO scaling."

Which is simply untrue.  A lie.  Not factual.  Wrong wrong wrong.  In fact- if "scaling" is how you determine your movies being watched- it is actually worse than the 6.  The 6 scales to 1080 because of it's screen size.  The 6 Plus upsizes it via software to 2208x1242- which reduces quality.  And then the hardware scales it back down to 1920x1080- which further reduces quality.  I, personally, prefer the bigger screen- but the scaling of the iPhone 6 plus actually makes it worse than it could be.  The simple fact you used "scaling" as your reason is just further proof you are a clueless hack.

So are you denying the 6 Plus won't take better pictures? Really?

I said "IOS is nice but "blow out of the water" it isn't.  Will the 6 Plus take better pictures, yes.  Does it "Blow the 6 out of the water" as you claimed?  Uh- hell no.

The 6 Plus is superior than the 6 in many ways.  THOSE ARE FACTS.. DEAL WITH IT.

Of course it is!  That's why I bought one.  But a few ways it is not superior in is portability, weight, single-hand usefulness, amongst others.  To discredit everyone else's opinions and pros as to why they prefer the 6 is being a troll.  Deal with it.

I never said 5S users are idiots.  I just said they will be using 2 year old shell after owning for 1 year.  AGAIN. FACT.

Actually you said they are "out of style".  Fact.

Nice but you could always go Grove Made for that.. : http://grovemade.com

Note that I am still buying that device since I think it will be solid enough for me with a case. Also, they told me at the Apple store that they will replace the device at no cost if this happens to me.

The iPhone 6 plus is thinner than the phones that didn't bend.  According to Apple, they've had 9 people complain so far about this issue, out of the first ten million phones it sold.  I plan to keep my 6 plus in my front pocket and don't plan to use a case.

It's true that UI elements are constructed at higher resolution, to make touch targets scale simply in UI designs, but it's unlikely they're scaling video twice!  Video is decoded in hardware, for power efficiency.  Scaling and rescaling  would waste power and result in poorer quality.   There's no reason for them to do it that way.

I expect the iPhone plus will continue to have the best screen in the industry until the release of the Note 4.

I've had the iPhone 6 Plus for around 24 hours. Putting it in my front pocket and such. Don't wear skinny jeans, and don't put it in my back pocket. Zero problems.

Really my only complaints about the device is just that it doesn't have much app support yet. Everything is blown up and annoying. That's the price you pay for early adopting.

    Couple of Observations:

    1. Device feels warmer than the 5s when under stress. When I first set it up it was uncomfortably warm.

    2. Viewing angles are better than the 5s.

    3. Volume rockers are easier to hit and work better in cases.

    4. Extruding camera bugs me

    5. I think the 5 was a better looking iPhone generation. Better than 4, better than 6.

    6. Battery kicks ass

    7. Reading and games kick ass.

    8. Phone kicks ass.

Except it does Norm. It's insane.

We're speaking of watching video in 1080p- in which case apple uses a 3x scale to scale it beyond 1080, and like you said, the hardware decodes (scales) it back down.

Really, you can barely notice (if at all)- and that's even if you're looking for it. But they're doing with the 6 Plus what android does with all their misc. sized phones. Obviously on a much much much (I can't say much enough) smaller scale.

I don't think they had much choice though.

"It's quite clear from looking" doesn't make it so. As if you could tell the difference anyway. Lol

There are plenty of articles on this as well as the 3x developer note. (3x is beyond 1080p btw)

Here is an article that explains it well:

What case do you recommend?  I'm looking for the thinnest case possible.  The only reason i want the case is for grip reasons.

    Maple?

I just got my 6 Plus with a black leather case ...

    Nice case -- but non-distinctive?

I had walnut cases on earlier iPhones that I really liked!

Would it be possible, with your wood technology to create a case from thin aged wood (naturally or chemically)? I suspect you'd need to coat it with epoxy (or somesuch) to provide a smooth surface and keep the wood intact.

But I think it would make a really distinctive statement!

    Something like this:

Just as a thought but Apple has experience with this already. If you use your rMBP in anything other than native retina it will scale twice. For example I use it in 1920x1200 equivalent so it scales 2x that and back to 2880.

Your description of the CPU in the charts is incorrect. Last year's iPhone 5S had an Apple chip branded "A7", which is a 64-bit "ARMv8-A" chip. This year's phones have an Apple chip branded "A8", which is also a 64-bit "ARMv8-A" chip.

I love my 6 Plus. It's a huge winner with me. Going from a 5s.

The best part about it.....is that its not an iPod touch. :D
