Thanks but I will wait this time. Not going to be guinea pig.

After the 8.0.1 debacle I was leery but jumped. It worked with no issues And I was able to restore my backup

So it's all good for me!

Really happy this fix came out so quickly!!

So, if it was this quick to fix how come it wasn't caught before release?

Whoever is now in charge of iOS development is clearly not getting the most out of his staff soon enough. I'm not saying they should turn into an ogre or anything, but the replacement of a number of senior staff members at Apple with easier to get along with types seems to have also removed the ability to release perfect products and perfect software. Whatever happened to the detail oriented folk that might have been a pain in the neck, but who insisted on things being thoroughly tested in private before launching them?

IOS8.02 also fails a DNS lookup for WiFi sync, so WiFi sync is also broken. In my case, over a hidden wireless network.

MSI must have invented rain to be up in such a market ;-).

IMO, this is an indicator of how dependent the market is on Apple growth and stability. AAPL is one of the most widely held stocks today.

Working on the OTA updates for my dummy iPhone 5 and iPad 3. Not updating on me iPhone 6 until the coast is clear!

Market was down about 1%, Apple down 3.5%. The market is always an average and individual stocks will always fluctuate more than market averages. It's a long haul thing.

damn, Apple fixed it sooner than expected - the pundits & bashers were expecting a weekends worth of hyperbolic wrath. Let's focus on bend-gate and the bash exploit for maximum effect.

8.02 installed OTA and running fine on AT&T Iphone 5 16gig. Improved performance noted while replying texts or emails. Connecting to Wifi, also faster.

Download size was around 64 megs.

Less bugs but now my 3G data won't work. iPhone 4S here.

My brother's 5S just lost all the cell signal after upgrading to 8.0.2.

    I don't recommend it.

I do not know if anyone else has noticed this or mentioned it, but iOS 8.0.2 seems to have also enabled the beta for iCloud Photo Library.  I have verified this on my iPhone 5S and on my third generation iPad.

It takes a while to setup, and it appears to only work over wi-fi, but I will need to confirm that.  By default, activating it will automatically activate Photo Stream as well.  However, photo stream can still be disabled.  It also seems to have two quality levels for what is stored on the iOS device vs what's in the cloud.  You can choose to either download an optimized version of the pics for the iOS device they are being viewed on, or you can choose to have it download and keep the originals.  My iPhone 5s also have a new slider for the uploading of burst photos.

All of this is accessed under the Photos section of the newly updated iCloud panel under the root of the Settings app.

Just remember that this is a beta, so take all the proper precautions.  Also, you might want to sanitize your photo libraries on your devices before you enable this feature.

And who knows what else they may have fixed?

The list more in the release notes.

Oh, and Apple is up nearly 2 percent today while the broader markets are only up a fraction of a percent.  Yesterday was profit taking along with a general market decline.

So I uplated to 8.0.1 on my wifi only iPad. Now it's telling me 8.0.2 is available. What's different?

40000, also known as every iphone6 ( ) that downloaded it before it was pulled.
    Includes me.

Out of 10M. So that comes down to 250‰
I haven’t heard of a single iPhone 6 that didn’t have this problem.

That's the problem when people start voicing; we mostly hear negative experiences or stories, and few positive ones. Probably because if everything is okidokie there's really not much to tell. Or because reading 10,000,000 - 40,000 happy users would become boring - quickly.

I don't think that math is right there. 40K/10M is 0.004 or 0.4% or 4 per thousand phones (4‰).

    Given:
    1) the update was pulled in under an hour
    2) applying the update requires user interaction
    3) at this point iphone6's are in fairly clean states coming from fresh install or fresh restore of apps.

I find it completely plausible that 40K phones represent a majority of iPhone6/6plus users that applied the update during the available window.
I do agree that reports are a self-selecting for problems, and only apple could tell us how many iphone6/6plus users in total applied it and how many were likely not broken by it.

Wow, +2 from me to you. That sure was a stupid math error. And I agree on your post.

So, is it STILL botched or not? Seems like a lot of people continue to face the same issues even after 8.0.2...Tim Cook, are you awake?
