I'm mad as hell at Apple. My Powermac G4, 400 Mhz, is supposed to be supported by OS X. It is supposed to run OS X with no problems.

Now I've installed OS X on it, but when I try to do things like resize windows, there is much lag. If I'm running several apps at once, the performance hit is tremendous.

At first this didn't bother me, I only assumed that it was a shortcoming of OS X. But I just went over to see a friend's new iMac G4, and guess what? OS X SCREAMED on his iMac! A lowly iMac runs OS X faster, better, even snappier, than my Powermac G4 which is said to be "supported" by OS X.

So I've decided to sue Apple over this. It is entirely inexcusable that OS X should run slower on my Powermac G4 than it does on an iMac. OS X should perform without productivity-robbing lags in performance, the GUI should be responsive and snappy, and because it's not I'm losing precious work hours on my Powermac. My Powermac simply does not run OS X at performance levels equivalent to newer Macs. Apple said that OS X would run on my Powermac G4, every bit as good as it does on new systems, but they lied to me! I'm not going to take this BS any longer!

What do you all figure I can get from Apple? I thought about asking for a refund, but now I'm thinking that perhaps I should aim high, go for broke, sue them for real money, like a few hundred Gs. What do you all think? $200,000? $500,000? $1,000,000? This is a clear case of consumer fraud, and I want Apple pay for their treachery and deceit!!!

Thanks for the encouragement. I'm gunna sue the sh!t out of everyone in the food chain, fellas. From the top down, inside out, starting with Steven P. Jobs and running right down to the custodians who keep Apple HQ's skunkworks sparkling clean. The depths of Apple's rip-off knows no bounds, and my lawsuit will know only the bounds of justice. I will not remain quiet while Apple pushes an OS on me that runs faster on their new systems than it does on systems 2-3 years old, like my Sawtooth G4! It's offensive, no, humiliating, that my POWERmac runs OS X sluggishly while a new iMac blazes away like a totally new computer! That's not right, they are both G4s and OS X should run equally well on them, because they are BOTH SUPPORTED!

My lawyer tells me that our case will be strongest against marketing. They blew hot sunshine up my ass when they told me that my Powermac G4 is supported just like a new iMac G4 is (yeah, right!). What they should have done is be honest, they should have advertised OS X like it is:

[quote]If you buy OS X for an old G4 Mac, or any G3 system, it will run like a slug. Buy a new Mac for optimal OS X performance, and be sure to add 1 GB of RAM to get a positive user experience.

Instead, I was misled by Apple into thinking that OS X supported computers would all run OS X equally well. What a traumatic experience, I'm not even sure I'll ever buy a computer again, Mac or Windows. It's just so hard to know what you're getting, and what might go wrong, and I just don't know what to believe any more. They all tell you the good stuff but what's true and what's marketing? To hell with it all, I say let the lawyers sort it out in court. That's why I'm going to sue Apple for everything they've got!!!

Yeah, baby, the money will roll right on in!!!

    eugene gets it.

    well done junky.

That is unbelievable. How hard is it to write an operating system so it works equally as well on a 400 MHz G4 as it does on a 800 MHz G4?

This is clearly unacceptable. I would like to offer my legal services to your case. This kind of thing must be stopped!

enjoy yourselves as you attempt to make fun of the other lawsuit but you're just looking dumb doing it. no one expected them to perform the same as the latest hardware. people expected them to be fully supported. you have to be pretty dumb not to be able to tell the difference between wanting something supported and wanting something to be as fast as new hardware.

go on with your dumb mockery.
