R.I.P. Pro Mouse. Hello Optical Elite Kesington mouse?

Today my pro mouse wire got all snarled up so I decided to unsnarl it. Well, after plugging it back in, it decided not to track anymore, although the red light went off and on. I unplugged it and replugged it in, no tracking and no light. This musnt be good.

So, I still want an optical mouse and found this 5--button, scroll wheel, optical mouse for only $29 from Kesington.

Yay or Nay?

go here...we talk about mice....i think this is the mouse mac's girl bought and EmAn used...they both liked it and the price is very good for an optical with 5 buttons

As much as I hate to say it, Micro$oft make the best mice out there.

err, maybe when it comes to clunky mice, then yes, microsoft does make the best clunky mice out there. my logitech performs great, it's the SE, the red one. not quite 5 buttons, only 3, but based on that and other logitech mice the quality is easy to see- i'm sure it extends across all product lines YMMV

...hard to believe but true! Macally also makes really good and reliable mice.

I got the wireless optical Mouseman from Logitech, and it well, sucked. The precision was horrible and slow. While I loved having the 3 buttons and scroll wheel, it just wasn't fast enough for some games. Plus, cordless just wasn't all it was cracked up to be. I would go for another optical though...I think I'd get the MouseMan Special Edition Optical...the Dual Optical, while would probably offer better precision, looks horrible. That was another aspect of the wireless optical mousman that I didn't like...it was so, so ugly. Almost as ugly as an iPuck.

I sold it along with the keyboard (I bought a Cordless Freedom Optical), and feel much better.
