I want to be absolutely clear about this; I'm not saying that Apple will do this, but wouldn't it be wild if "way too long" referred to an ARM Mac? They really could do it this year, with two SoC's.
Yep! And they already have MS Office running on iOS ARM if they want to go ARM Mac with MultiTouch!
Then Apple Car > Google Car...lol. No, Apple wouldn't do that...or at least at this time yet unless they can get the car sales through dealers across states. States policies suck that manufacturers are not allowed to sell cars directly to customers but through god damn "Stealers" (dealers).
The iPod Touch has its days numbered. It's an iPhone without LTE and a too small iPad. The iPad mini has taken its place.
With Apple launching a retina iMac, I would expect them to refresh their Thunderbolt displays too. Both of these are the key to the Apple TV. Include an AppleTV chipset inside both the new iMac and Thunderbolt displays and you have 4K TVs. If it's successful, Apple can release a 60" version next year and really move into conquering the living room.
.....you will probably experience saying things like comma, period, exclamation point, question mark, and other punctuation in your dictated audio messages.....
It would have been fun if Apple implemented phonetic punctuation, ala Victor Borge. Skip to :40 and then to 1:40 to see it in action....or just for a laugh.
What about super Apple TV like full iOS, Siri integrated, A8x chip, 16GB/64GB storage and HomeKit centralized? Is it considered "significant"? I would say it is.
1) I don't know what "full iOS" means but if you mean CocoaTouch UI for a nonexistent consumer touch/sensitive TV market, I'll take that bet.
2) The HW stuff is expected with a basic update of the Apple TV.
3) Not sure how the Aplle TV would use Siri. You add it to iDevices and/or the remote.
4) HomeKit is already listed in an iOS beta and requires no HW update for simply adding code
5) A significant update would be the aforementioned Apple U/HDTV, or something that isn't simply what is available and expected in last 2014 after 3 years of waiting.
already leaks of a Super Retina iMac. A 50-70 inch screen is the next step.
And where exactly was the 'smoke' for the Apple Watch?
And where was the smoke for the MacPro last year?
Apple had hide stuff if they want.
If they won't be shipping the TV's till next April hiding it is no problem.
- a retina imac is not a 50-70" home automation thing you're talking about.
- are you serious? there was tons of smoke leading to the watch -- "iWatch", anyone? all the wearable hires apple made? the swiss watch exec?
- cook himself said they were working on a new MP, when someone emailed to complain about the prev spec bump.
- the plural of TV is TVs -- it's not possessive nor is it a contraction, so no apostrophe
...again, absolutely no smoke on this, so there won't be one announced *next week*. the only true secret apple has kept was Swift, and that's because it's software.

I suspect he means Fully-Accessible iOS -- as developers can write apps for it!
Also, The AppleTV could respond to Siri commands issued thru an iPad or iPhone. I'am always issuing Siri commands to my iPad 4 while watching the big screen (get sports updates, program times background info ...).
Then, when Apple Watch becomes available, I suspect we'll see the Apple TV (and HomeKit Accessories) being controlled with air gestures to scroll, swipe, select ...
It's been way too long..... since Steve Jobs announced in the Isaacson book that he had solved the TV - "I finally cracked it." With or without content it should finally be released. Then I can finally get rid of my signature.
The STAND-ALONE Apple HomeCenter is finally here.........
What is Apple HomeCenter?
Its the center of your home.
Its a TV
Its a media center.
its the control center for your AC, doors, lights (home kit)
It will hold all your music, movies, home apps.
Use it to pay bills.
Setup family calanders, reminders.
Ability to set up an easy Home Cloud
This will take place of your home PC (except for people who do a lot of specialized work on their computers)
Its been way too long
I think the home center will be more closely aligned with Airport Extreme than the AppleTV(TV and Media Center in your list above)
People keep proposing that ... But it makes no sense!
The Airport Extreme is more than 2 X the cost, has minimal RAM, flash storage -- likely contains a lobotomized ARM CPU, no GPU, and a minimal OS -- likely not even iOS.
You already have all the hardware, Storage, APU, iOS on the current AppleTV ... All you need to add [in a new model] is 11.ac and it will run circles around any Airport (or other router).
Apple is changing the TV game in 8 days....I've had the TV for a while now. If Apple comes thru (I've waited too long), the wife gets the Samsung and I'll get the Apple version.
I've had the TV for a while. If Apple comes thru (I've waited far too long), the wife will get the Samsung and I'll get the Apple TV. Otherwise, there is a divorce in her future.
How about a new Mac Mini? I realize the selection of Haswell processors so far has kind of stunk for the Mac Mini, but perhaps by now it's time? The 2.7GHz Core i5 4570R seems appropriate (quad core, Iris Pro graphics), and it's finally getting to where it would fit the price point. And perhaps the i7 version (4770R) for the more expensive model?

Nah! SilentWriter ...
Apple buys Tesla? LOL

HomeCenter Box = $999
hahahahah. yeah.
@JupiterOne ...
Thx!
I first heard that routine on a 78 RPM record, circa 1948 -- before TV ... He was a little edgier on the records ...
Brings back some good memories and laughs!

Let's make it one month and narrow the bet to say that I don't think Apple will be announcing an Apple-branded television set next week.
yes, please, make it a month. or 12.

That's called an Apple TV.
My condolences.

Probably won't happen but a 17" gold coloured Macbook Pro would be nice.

Shorter version of Mac Pro. Same size as the Cube, but cylindrical.
Touch ID AC Adapters, so that they can only be plugged in to the device they shipped with?
Why the hell would anyone want that? What a nightmare!
