Got my new PowerMac set up and running, and it is sweeeeeeeet.

It is SO nice to be on a Mac again. After over a month on my PII 300, I am in heaven.

Not a barn burner or anything, but I'm happy.

800 MHz G4 PowerMac

40 GB HD

Radeon 7500

24x CD-RW

1 GB RAM

and a 17" Apple LCD

Life is good.

I think it's #10... who can remember after so many...

Sitting here setting this up right now, and I just LOVE it. Really, after a month on a PC I only appreciate the Mac more.

Burning CDs at 24x is soooo nice.

After a few hours on this LCD, my 17" CRT in the office is like reading a newspaper at the bottom of a fishbowl - with sunglasses on.

I just keep buying computers that match my silver table, applenut.

First thing I noticed when I popped it open to add the RAM was "Hey, my heat sink is smaller than Eugene's!"

I'm really happy with OSX on this machine - must be really sweet on that dual GHz monster, Euge.

    I DO!

What Murbot used to have (not in order)

    *TWO* iMac SE

    iBook DVD 500

    Pismo 400

    Titanium PB 400

    Slowsilver (tm) 867

    Cube 450 with CD-RW

    G4 533 (Digital Audio)

His latest set probably is his 9th set up.

This is quite funny that his latest setup is slower than one of his former ones

Basically he had had every quardent of Apple's product (well, except iPod)

Again I am betting he will go for his 10th setup which is the new iMac, sometime in April (or could be MUCH earlier) <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laughing]" />

    Well, close Leonis.

    You forgot my 550 MHz Ti Book. The Cube also had a DVD, and I never had a 533 tower - I had a 466. I also had 2 iBooks - a 500 and a 600.

So I guess that makes this #11. Yikes!

Yes, this 800 is slower than the 867, but it was almost $900 CDN cheaper (it only had a CD-RW), has a better video card, a much faster CD-RW, and I got to mess around with a few Macs in between.

This is it though. I'm done with the swapping. I'm already eyeing up hard drives - birthday coming up.

Oh, and I did have an iPod. Can't believe you missed that topic man, I've had TWO!

Well, I've uh, seen the odd one...

    haven't designed one yet though.

It's not like I keep them, I always sell and replace. Kind of like fishing - "catch and release."

But no more! Mark my words! I will still have this tower in June! (hey, that'll be like 4 months - a new record for me)

Don't you always say when you get a Tower that you're going to keep it?

    That was the old murbot.

The new and improved murbot actually has big plans for using this Mac.

I'm sure a "Countdown to murbot's new Mac" thread will pop up here sometime around May.... wonder who'll do that, eh Leonis?
