Handoff/Continuity Not Working in iOS 8.1

Perhaps I'm the only one, but I was under the impression that this should be working today. I have iOS 8.1 on my iPhone 6 Plus, and Yosemite 10.10 on my late 2013 MacBook Pro Retina and they only kinda work.

I am able to make/receive calls using my notebook and as of today I am able to send/receive regular text messages using my notebook. However, when I click the wifi icon at the top of my screen it does not display my iPhone, nor the battery like they advertise. Also, handoff is not working and they do not recognize each other in their respected docks. In my iPhone and notebook settings I have Handoff turn ON, my iPhone's hotspot is on, bluetooth is on, wifi is on, they're both signed into the same iTunes account.

What am I doing wrong?
