Order Date: 01/07/2002

I was told on the phone a bunch of times that this thing was coming this week and this time and blah, blah.

I was finally given a hard date: February 19th.

TOMMOROW.

Can an order go from Being Assembled to Shipped?

I hope it comes.

    **** Apple!

I just go an e-mail saying that they need 5 more business days to ship the iMac.

WTF!? I ordered on the 7th of January and he we are 52 days later and no iMac?

I am going to call and demand a reason, huge volume of orders is not an acceptable answer as I ordered on the first day of availability.

I want this thing at least to have the no tax deal that PA is getting this week. That 5 days pushes me out of that.

Someone at Apple really ****ed up when estimating demand for this product.

    I am beyond angry.

The thing that really gets me is that they have quoted specific dates and have not stuck with any of them. Apple is not customer friendly at all.

    Ha ha...

BTW... can you please stop changing all of the names of your topics. it gets confusing. the feature is there to correct typos and such, not to change everytime you have a mood swing.

no one at apple ****ed up when estimating demand. they wisely had modest expectations, especially in the current economy. it's always best to estimate wisely cause if they over estimate, then this might affect their financial situation

150,000 people preordered an imac. that's a pretty high demand. i'm sure they're trying their best. you can't expect tooooooo much when they have to go and make 150k of these things. and the imacs aren't like pc's with a generic box. the imac is completely different from anything out there and it takes a while to get everything together.

however, since you did order on the first day, you should have gotten it by now, unless there were 100,000 orders on the first day

i'm sorry man. this does suck

    wait wait.

i am guessing by the censoring of your text that you said you are going to "fuck apple so hard." what?

that doesn't sound like much of a threat!

Macintosh, calm down. there are better ways to deal with your frustration than making an ass out of yourself.

You're not gonna get very far with demanding something in return. the only thing you may get is free next day shipping if you fight for it.

I am going to get this thing for FREE god damnit!

How can I not have it by now?
  • Reply 12 of 91
i dont know, it's probably related to you giving them a bogus credit card or whatever that story was. i wouldn't doubt that they put you back at the bottom of the list when your card didn't work.

Making an ass out of myself? They made an ass oit of me making me wait 50+ days for something I spent 2k on! I was screwed and now they will pay the penalty. I want no tax because this week is no tax on PC's in PA and I want high priority guaranteed shipping and I want to move to the fron of the line.

I was ****ed here and I want my machine that I ordered before many people that already have their stupid i****ers!

I am in utter disbelief when others have the thing I ordered before them. It really isnt fair and I should be compensated in some way. I should at least have the next shipped iMac. Why was I put to the back of the line when my dad changed the credit card number? They should still honor our order based on when it was put in.

They even told us on the phone that the iMac would ship in the 19 and before that they gave us different dates. WTF is going on...and they are closed right now so I couldnt talk to a real person right now if I wanted.

I am going to call up Steve, I heard he handles tech support calls once in a while! :o

Heh heh - it took you how long to figure out Apple didn't care about their customers? They told me my iBook would be back to me in 3-5 business days when I sent it in to get it repaired, but instead it came back in 2 1/2 weeks, and damaged further.

Not to pick, but it's "only" 43 days, by my count:

    1/7 to 2/7 = 31 days

    2/7 to 2/19 = 12 days

    Total: 43 days

Still a long time, but not 52 days. I remember from Phil's conference call that they were expecting some very large shipping charges this quarter because the new iMacs are made in Taiwan (or Singapore, I forget) and the first shipments would have to be air-freighted to get them to customers. There have also been delays in customs, to actually get them into the country.

One would think they would fill orders in the order received, but maybe they've been reading your posts here and decided that you should go to the end of the line, or something...

Anyway, I'd be pretty pissed in your shoes, too. Good luck waiting them out.
