I am finding the whole 'the enemy of my enemy is my friend' wearing a bit thin. Apple will beat them both, no need to take any sides. :smokey:

I agree that Apple's system is the best and will be the dominate figure at play, much in the same way that iDevices make purchase transactions that far exceed Android despite Android's stated activation numbers. However, I expect other system, including Google Wallet, to follow Apple's lead. The multinationals and financial institutions have no reason to prevent others from making similar deals and they've already altered their back end to support ?Pay. This is a benefit for all users so my guess this isn't something Tim Cook would prevent anyone else from having. I'm not talking about using Apple's IP, but rather using the general paradigm ?Pay uses. The only caveat would be Apple having a contractual timeframe which the banks to keep others out, but I'm not sure that would even be an issue for Apple since no one else has the control of the HW and OS to make this a reality.

Haha, sure enough. Apple Pay is great and I enjoy using it. I wish there were more places to use it. Soon that will happen.

It's going to be interesting when Google starts advertising Google Wallet (which they are, as I've seen the campaign) and people realize that they could of done this the entire time.

I still don't think it'll be a popular as Apple Pay in the beginning but in the long run, just like with Visa/Master Card, both will be used side by side.

And yes, Apple Pay is more secure. (Why I have to say this to not get jumped on, I don't know)

That is pretty hilarious. Now imagine if CurrentC was in use and they had all of your bank account information, SSN, etc. This is a warning of a huge pending disaster waiting to happen when this service goes live next year.

Reminds me of an old Rusty Warren joke ...

Seems this spinster goes in for a thorough medical exam, and afterwards says to the doctor:

"You mean to tell me that I've never used it -- and now it's broken?"

Oh, that crowd is already claiming the CurrentC hack is a big PR stunt by Apple and didn’t really happen (see c|net comment section). Remember, for them it’s not about being fans of Google/Android, it’s about hating Apple and wishing for its demise.

I don't think I've ever seen a Play Store or App Store rating this low.

What I want to know is, how are there 17 5-star ratings for CurrentC in the App Store?

    BOOM!

I'm betting MCX folds up and blows away before their system ever actually sees the light of day. What a festival of fail.

All that customer tracking data is going to be too tempting.

If Sammy can pay for positive reviews, Walmart can too.

And that is a HUGE vote of confidence in Apple Pay.

    Oh that's funny.

Poor sods, it must be awful being a Fandroid. I bet if you were to use sodium pentathol the vast majority would really prefer to have Apple gear. You'd be left with the die hard PC users that have hated Apple for ever and will use pigeons rather than an iPhone if it was all that was left on the planet. The same drug on Apple user would most likely find very few saying 'Oh I really wanted an Android or a Wintel box, but I forced myself to buy Apple."

To be fair however the NFC systems are in place because of Google.

Not necessarily. The 'can be bought off' journalists are already taking Sammy's cash and they'd be in a tough position having to choose.

Not too late to get that CurrentC Halloween Costume -- be sure to wear something under it, as it is totally transparent! :D

I can agree Google Search and later their Maps plus getting NFC rolling have all been positive contributions from Google. I once loved the company, prior to Eric's betrayal of Steve.
