Should it be able to load anything without your permission? Seems like a foot in the door. if Apple can do so I would think they'll chop off the toes sooner rather than later and eliminate the exploit.
No, and it doesn't.
If your phone is not jailbroken, you must accept the Enterprise certificate on your device first. If you don't accept the enterprise certificate, the comic book bloatware will not load. You cannot run an enterprise application without the enterprise certificate. You simply say 'no' to the certificate popup.
If your device is jailbroken, you aren't protected by this.
It is worth noting that Apple has already pulled the enterprise certificate. If you have a non-jailbroken device, you won't even get the comic book bloatware anymore. There is 0% vulnerability for non-jailbroken devices now.
ChargeDefense invented a product called the Juice-Jack Defender. They guarantee that it will block indentity theft and malware (including WireLurker) when charging any mobile device by USB. www.chargedefense.com

Can't view it. To avoid misunderstandings in the future either post a link, or copy and paste text if your going to comment on that data, and yes it does seem like you're correct. I was mistaken due to the limited information at my disposal.

Whether it's a malware or a virus, I believe Apple has already find a fix for this
